We were at the Resort for all of 2 days and had 10 issues. The initial room smelled terrible and we had to be moved, the TV didn't work, the toilet didn't flush well, the walls were so thin we could hear the conversations in the next room, the DVD case was empty, the "so called" hot springs which are just... We are owners at this resort and have been for almost 10 years. The resort has gone thru some rough times but now has another new owner. We have been promised changes to the resort but the changes are not being done timely. Our room was not updated as promised. The grounds are not being cared for properly, weeds growing... More

5 Star for location, because we loved the views, habitat area; the sound of the geese, the birds, dragonflys, lizards, frogs & turtles, call of the cattle (not too close though) and the tranquility. About 45 miles or so from Reno airport, you will need a car. Wonderful staff, very clean facilities, grounds and rooms. Debbie gives GREAT massages! Liza... More

Very nice place to stay with the family or to just to get away! Out in the middle of nowhere but still close to a lot of things. very quite and clean. Beds where comfortable services was also good in the hotel and in the restaurant also in the spa center.

IF you're actually planning a trip to Lake Tahoe, like we were, this resort is not in the best location for enjoying the beauty of Tahoe. But, this is still a beautiful spot and a really nice, family-oriented resort. The Carson Valley is a beautiful area, and Genoa is a charming small town. We just found ourselves making the 30-45... The hot pools are lovely and the food was reasonably good although not as good as in the recent past. We ended up in one of the studio units as that is what was available to us at the time. The bed was terrible and covered with some sort of plastic pad that made us sweat all night. I am... More

This is a nice place to stay and the area has a lot of interesting places to explore . We had a one bedroom unit with full kitchen & dining-room and a big bathroom were the shower head was so high up that I could stand straight up under the water without getting wet and it was not adjustable needs... This place is adequate. Needs updating. Kitchen has minimal dishes and cookware. Bathroom sink doesn't drain well. There are little things that need attention. We have had a lot of trouble with the electronic keys. The key will work one time and then not the next. If you are planning on using this as an alternative to Tahoe - don't... More

I wanted to go to Tahoe and I had a 3 bedroom ocean front condo in West Palm Springs to exchange. I was under time lines to use the exchange and the only place that had an exchange available was David Walley's. (about a half hour from Tahoe) I was staying for more than a week so I exchanged my... Tucked away against the eastern side of the Sierra mountains sits an old mineral springs resort and spa. David Walley's 1862 resort is both charming and quaint. My husband and I love the Lake Tahoe/Carson Valley area and were delighted with our stay at David Walley's. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon during a major power outage and had to... More
