Have been to Ely several times and have even eaten dinner here but never stayed here, always passing it up for motels in town. I assumed that the rooms would be tiny and funky with shared baths and the clientele would be shaky. What we got instead was a small but very nice and quiet room with a private bath... More

We decided to stay here because it is a historic hotel. We got a King size mini suite on the top floor for between $60 and $70.00. The room was clean and spacious. It has lots of memorabilia to look at. The room is quiet....not perfect, but better than a chain hotel!

ive stayed in some crappy hotelsbut this one takes the cake.the room was so small 2 people seemed cramped. The bathroom was so gross we wouldn't use the bathtub, they have a sign in the bathroom warning you that because of outdated plumbing there is a chance you could be burned.the smoke detectors battery was dead so it beeped every minute, called front... How often do you find yourself in Central Nevada? That said, Hotel Nevada made our stay there memorable due to its' funky character and charm. I'd rather stay in a historic hotel with history than a name brand hotel. Yes, there's a casino. Service was o.k., but really, for the price and overall unique experience, I didn't mind. I'd stay... Loved it! I love Nevada and its history, and this is history. If you are picky, if you're looking for shiny perfection or if you want to be impressed by interior design, or if you're a "foodie" or something, do the rest of us a favor: go somewhere else. This place is great for those of us who appreciate something... More

Entering the crummy, clichéd entrance was an experience in itself. No one offered to help with our bags and travelling in a group with 3 kids meant that there was a lot to carry. With no curtain or blinds in the bathroom it meant that the whole town could see us in our birthday suits. The supposed charm is severely lacking but... More

Have stayed at this unique, historic and some might say funky hotel high in the mountains of Central Nevada in an area famous for its mining heritage several times over the years. Located in the city of Ely, a city built on mining, especially copper, today is a popular place to visit for its recreation activities, Nevada Northern Railroad, Lehman... More

Great little room in the corner up on the 5th floor, lots of light and good views. The beds were comfortable and the shower great. Liked the signs warning about the water changing from hot to cold so was really. Ate at the restaurant, okfood, nice staff. It is a casino though and the smoke was a bit much, didn't... More

The Hotel Nevada is "the" place to stay in Ely. Built in the 1920's, supposedly by a local mining company to attract employees and investors, is a classic represention of how it was back then; smaller rooms, though comfortable and functional, a restaurant, a bar and gambling hall, all still operating today. The hotel is very quirky, as there is... More

Don't stay at the Hotel Nevada expecting a Las Vegas resort experience. This place is small town Nevada at it's best, far from the glitter of the Vegas Strip. The Hotel Nevada was built in 1929. The rooms are small, the plumbing can be iffy. But if you know that going it, it's a fine place to stay. This was... More
