We often make road trips for our vacations, usually from Alberta to Nevada. More often than not, we make a pointed decision to come through Ely so that we can stay at Hotel Nevada. We've stayed here several times, in a different room each time. Other times, we've only passed through for the day, but even then we absolutely stop... More

I parked on the street In front of the hotel between Ingrid Bergman's and Jimmy Stewart's stars on the sidewalk. I was given the Gary Cooper room on the sixth floor, full of original movie posters and framed photos. The room was small but spotless. It even had an original 1929 bathtub. The staff was helpful, the restaurant good, and... More

I don't rate 5 points often. But, this hotel was beyond expectations. It is an old hotel that looks old. The place has had some updates like flat screen TVs and pillow top beds, but is mostly original. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food was good, inexpensive and plentiful. The surprise was the inexpensive room rate. Staff are very... More

We stayed in the "Vikki Carr Suite". It wouldn't be called a "suite" by today's standards, but it was a great comfortable room. Everything was upgraded. Nice that we didn't have to go outside to a casino or restaurant, because it was -16C when we were there. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again.

Stayed here twice because of the good value for a family suite. Our kids had there own twin beds in addition to our bed. The rooms had upgraded interiors and were clean. The smoke in the restaurant and casino was not pleasant but it was tolerable. The staff was kind and helpful. We will stay here again. Wish there was... More

There was a rocky start to my stay immediately... After driving all day New years day a technical difficulty with the lock made me unable to get into my room, they replaced the batteries saying it should work, it didn't. They told me to go to the front desk when I wanted back in. Ridiculous but I thought "ok whatever... More

Really cool place. Very reasonable for rooms. Only thing is rooms are on the smaller side and walls are very thin. Had a screaming kid next to us asked management if we could move, did not happen. Ate at the restaurant inside, food was good. Nice staff, a little distracted but overall would stay again.

If you are looking for history and character and genuine people may sure you visit this hotel in Ely. We stayed there two years ago and made a point of going back. The food in the restaurant is good, the service is good. Make sure you order "those potatoes" with breakfast. We went back mainly for the Friday and Saturday... More

On a weekend getaway we decided to spend Friday night in Ely and continue on to Wendover Saturday afternoon. Chose the Historic Hotel Nevada from the Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed! We booked the Jimmy Stewart suite and it was charming. Clean and well stocked. Comfortable king size poster bed and beautiful dresser. Toasty warm room on very cold... More

Built 85 years ago, Hotel Nevada still has much of the character of the Prohibition Era. It is a popular place because of that so if you're walking in off the street as I did the best rooms will already be taken. There was nothing wrong with my room except that it was awkward to get to with luggage due... More
