It was nice finding a bit of class in the nightlife of elko. The drinks were well made and affordable. Friendly staff. The rest of the property was the typical small town casino. I worked at the Commercial Hotel/Casino as a musician, on and off from 1977 through 1998. and though only a shadow of it's 'grandure' of the early 1900's, it had a 'vibe' that was quite unique and unusual. The room we had was old and cold. The bed wasn't made with a fitted bottom sheet which made trying to sleep imposible without gettin bunched uped. The Commercial Hotel, as pointed out in a previous review, ceased being a hotel a long time ago. Currently it is a casino, owned by the same people who own the Stockmen's Hotel across the plaza--the plaza being the now-defunct railroad right of way which once ran through town. The Commercial Hotel is an historical landmark building in Elko, NV.
