This is not a 4 star hotel but the views of the lake and mountains more than make up for it. The decor is dated but the numerous windows make you forget about it. It also has a interesting history of Sinatra and the Rat pack owning the place. The spa is a really nice treat and not terribly expensive.... more

I booked a room at the Cal-Nev for a friend's wedding at the Hyatt in Incline Village, NV. I wanted to save a little money becuase the rooms at the Hyatt are $300+. For $200 (I booked with gtahotels.com), the room I received was REALLY sub-par. I will mention that the bathroom was at least clean and was fairly large.... more

If you are looking for a modest size and priced hotel with great views of the lake, easy access to the road to Reno, and really nice staff this is your place. ( I think almost all the rooms have lake views but not sure-- mine did). I am not a gambler, so the small casino was not a draw... more

I was travelling on business and found the Cal-Neva Resort online while lookinf for accomodations while on my trip. What a wonderful choice I made to stay there for the night. First, the trip into Crystal Bay from Reno was breathtaking and upon arrival at the Cal-Neva I was amazed to find this historic gem. Another reviewer hit the nail... more

Oh, that hotel has history and when you enter there you could feel it! It is like entering the 60's where Sinatra and Monroe should perfom on stage of the grand showroom. Atmosphere is great inside the hotel, but it could be a pleasure to visit it as a Musuem! I would not recommend to stay there. It has not... more

On some sites, this is a 3-star hotel. On others, it's a 2-1/2. It is what it is. If you're looking for 4-star accommodations, this certainly isn't it. It's old, but our room was fairly clean. It's exactly what I would expect from a 2-1/2-star hotel. They clean the rooms daily and do a fairly good job of it. There... more

Arrived after a long day in the car with expectations of a warm, clean and comfortable room. Not here. This hotel/casino may have been the place to stay in 1963, but it's apparent that little effort has been applied since then in making sure the hotel retained it's quality. What the place uses instead is marketing gimmicks. The hotel is... more

It’s funny that people will go to the Calneva and then complain about it not being a 5-star (built last week) hotel. I love the place, and everyone I encountered while there were always more than friendly and would go the extra mile over anything. This leads me to believe that the people complaining about the staff were just being... more

We arrived at the CalNeva and checked in easy enough to our standard room but found we couldn't see the lake unless we stuck our head out the window! Returning to front desk, the receptionist was a little reticent to change our room, but eventually offered us a cabin, where Marilyn Monroe had once stayed. We presumed this would be... more

Hardy travelers will love this place. It ain’t the Ritz. OKAY? But it’s a boatload better than a bunch of name-brand places I’ve stayed for business. We were there for some outdoor stuff and went to this place because the price was right and it’s just cool. I mean, SINATRA owned it once and did all sorts of nasty things... more
