Stayed because Elko hotels were booked out for Cowboy Poetry. Hotel was dirty. Lobby, hallways, entry, elevator were not vacuumed during my 2 night, 3 day stay. I stayed here because it was free through the motel's rewards program. I would have preferred to stay in Elko and got to bed that much sooner, but free is free. This Comfort Inn was a great disappointment. We knew that Carlin was not a metropolis, but this was like staying in a truck stop. The hotel is located between a truck stop and the interstate. I hav stayed here extensively for business related to the Mining Industry. The staff is always happy and friendly and their complimentary breakfast is great. It is a clean place and is well maintained. If you ar elooking for a place to stop along the highway or are working in the Carlin area, don't hesitate. more

This was our hotel for night 4 of a cross-country move along I-80 in July 2005. Carlin was a very desolate place, with only the hotel and two gas stations in the immediate area off of the interstate. Other than fast food and fast gas, this was one of the few signs of business in Carlin, which may explain why the staff appeared so happy to have a job.
