Had a family get together/impromptu reunion in Valentine and some family came as far away as California, Arizona, Texas, Pennsylvania and Washington State. We all stayed at the Trade Winds! The rooms are very spacious ( larger than most comparable hotels/motels ), with updated décor, comfortable beds, including all the standard amenities everyone expects today and some you don't, like... We travel a lot and stay in a lot of different places. Most are fair, But when we drove into Trade Wind,s the exterior was very well taken care of. This made us feel good of our selection, staff was very friendly and room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the only thing could have been a... More

This is a great motel.. The second you step in the door you just sense the clean and it makes you feel really good.... The room is very large and has all the amenities one expects today. Breakfast was adequate, so no complaints there... All in all this is one of the best hotels/motels we've ever stayed in, at any... More

This was a modest hotel, but ithe room was big and clean (I'm picky about cleanliness). Although the breakfast was less desirable. My husband and I like to taste our coffee and this is hard to do while travelling. Their coffee was like colored water which is a problem with most places while travelling. However, if there is a Starbucks... More

I may be missing something, but we just didn't see what everyone is raving about. The motel is very clean, with typical furniture for less expensive motels. Bath towels were thin but fine. The TV is tiny and breakfast was microwave omelets, biscuits and gravy that had 1/4 inch of skin on top, and coffee that tasted like water. We... More

We were very comfortable at this hotel, and appreciated the large and clean room. We were a bit disappointed with breakfast, but my boys were happy to hit McDonalds on the way out of town. Definitely a good stop on the way to South Dakota for us.

We happened upon this hotel completely by accident as we motorcycled home from Sturgis. The attendant captured our business by offering us a free upgrade from our requested queen room to a king--one of their last available rooms! It was immaculately clean, freshly remodeled, and nicely decorated. We took advantage of the complementary breakfast the next morning, and were delighted... More

We had a very rowdy group of "neighbors" on one side of us. They showed up past Midnight on a Friday night - loudly. By 3 AM i'd had enough and called the office for some relief. No one answered the phone! Had to listen to this group of drunks until 3:30 when they left. Too bad really, nice clean... More

One of those motels that was probably fabulous in the beginning, then saw a decline, and was brought back to life. Immaculate. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. Lobby/breakfast area clean & efficient. Lawn & parking lot well kept. My singular complaint was no fruit at breakfast, but honestly, Valentine's not that big, it takes maybe 2 minutes... More
