We stayed at Chadron State Park for 3 days where we had rented a two bedroom cabin. It was clean and had a kitchenette with cookware, appliances and utensils to do basic cooking. The bathroom was small but had good water pressure on the shower and VERY hot water. Outside the cabin had a picnic table, a fire pit and a wrap-around deck with built in benches and a big pine tree was actually left in place and the the deck built around it. There was a window unit air conditioner even though the state park web-site did not say the cabin was air-conditioned so that was a nice suprise.
Being after Labor Day a lot of the park service were not available such as swimming and horse back riding but there was still plenty to do with all the hiking trails and the parks proximity to Mount Rushmoore and the Black hills. At night the park was so dark you could see see the milky way and get a real sense of the deepness of space that you will never see living in a city.
