Our traveling companion booked this place. He got the only ONE room that had been remodeled and the others were like a flop house. I would not recommend this place to anyone. AND they had the nerve to charge $100.00! Beds uncomfortable; no services; staff was nice tho. Very old and run down.

Whitehall Montana is a place you have to want to go to on the road from here to there, along some of the greatest highways in the world. We'd ridden our motorcycles all day and were looking for a decent place and we found it. Newer owners are working hard to keep the place attractive. The rooms were neat and... More

I'm not sure whether our room was totally different from others, but we would not stay here again. 1960's panelling on the wall, no doors on the closet, no baseboards in most of the room, no hangers, no phone , dirty carpet and a bathroom and shower akin to an old campground. I guess there's not that much to choose... More

Started our trip from Rochester MN at 2 in the morning trying to make it all the way to Seattle WA in less than 24 hours. Unfortunately the weather did not want to cooperate at all! The roads were so icy and without a charged phone, didn't feel like being stranded in Montana tundra. Got such a great review from... More

Spent one nite at the Chief . I will have to be desperate to spend another nite there. The walls are paper thin , i could hear the people in the next room roll over in bed. Even heard the vibrating alarm go off at 5:30 am. it would have been nice to sleep in after a long day on the... More

Even though the outside of the Chief Motel looks a little rough around the edges, the inside is wonderful. The rooms look recently remodeled, the staff is friendly and excellent, they are also in the process of building a working wine/beer bar with a kitchen. With all of these improvements we will stay at the Chief Motel again in the... More

Stayed in this motel for a couple of weeks because it suited my needs very well. All I needed was a bed and a shower. The bed was excellent-one of the best I've ever had in public accommodation. There was instant hot water at the shower, and good pressure. There was plenty of storage for clothes and my bags. The... More

If you can't get a reservation at the Super 8 in Whitehall, keep going to Butte! Do not stay here! We made the mistake of booking online for a three night stay and they charge you a deposit of 20% which they will not refund if you cancel. We stayed one night in this bug infested motel and cancelled our... More
