great location! Downtown Virginia City, MT has a very unique feel. This old Montana boom town during the gold mining in Montana still feels...old and special. The accommodations are very much old fashioned. No TV's, just adorable beds/decor! Nice that guests have a separate entrance from the from desk area, and their own key to access anytime! Check in at... More

We stayed in a room with two double beds my friend and I. The room was very spacious and clean. It is an historic hotel so it is decorated like it used to be on the 19 th century so it is very cute. There's a nice porch upstairs to hang out on and the hotel has perfect location as... More

I kwen what we were getting when I made the reservation - no phone, no TV, and no WIFI. We had a second story room and used the hotel balcony to watch people on the street while drinking a beer before dinner. Wood floors are worn but the rooms were in good shape (nice carpet) and the beds (although small)... More

I booked a double room with full bathroom a month in advance so I was really disappointed when we arrived and they told me they had given our room to someone else and that if we wanted our own bathroom we would have to move to a room in Nevada City. I had really wanted to stay at the “famous”... More

We had a really hard time finding a place to stay in Virginia City for our timeline so felt fortunate to get anything. While this hotel is historic and all, there is a fine line between shabby-chic and just plain run down. Being right on the main street of the town, it is a great location and one feel's like... More

I can't recommend the Fairweather Inn for the simple reason that I couldn't get a decent night's sleep there. First, I'm 6 foot 2 and couldn't fit on the bed because of a high baseboard that kept my feet from dangling over the edge. I had to try to sleep diagonally. Second, management placed window a/c units in the rooms... More

We stayed at the Fairweather Inn in Virginia City for a birthday celebration. The staff there is very helpful and friendly. It is an historic hotel so don't expect king size beds, tvs, showers or phones. In keeping with Virginia City's 100+ year old history, our room was simple, clean, and aside from a/c and electrical outlets, historically accurate. Our... More

Absolutely loved my stay here...so quaint, very clean...excellent service. The 2nd floor balcony is awesome to sit out on in the shade and watch the people go by. The rest of the town is right there to leisurely stroll around. Highly reccomend this inn.

Of Virginia City, my husbands says "it's the most ramshackle theme park I've ever been to!" We spent one night at the Fairweather Hotel as we were driving around Montana. It's an old ghost town that has some properties with current businesses. The hotel is one of these. You definitely feel as though you've gone back in time given the furnishings... More

All of the current hotel was built in the 1940's. The bathroom has a tub but no shower. The walls are very thin and not insulated for sound at all; we could hear our neighbor snoring and could clearly hear them talking. Keep your expectations low and you will be happy; this is not a luxury hotel by any means.... More
