With reasonable rates, perfectly appointed yet rustic rooms, fresh baked morning muffins and piping hot coffee what more can you ask for? The Broken Spur motel is located along the Lewis and Clark Trail in fly fishing country near the Rocky Mountains in western Montana. It is a classic two level motel with all the rooms opening to the outside. My 12 year old son and I were guests here for 3 days in 2005, due to a vehicle breakdown. We were on the way back to Wisconsin after taking another son to Great Falls. Roger and Roberta were more than helpful. During the morning coffee session, we met Ken and Joe, who were friends of the Strattons and full... More

It is an older motel, but clean and well kept. You can tell the owners care about the place. There is a basic breakfast with muffins, coffee, etc. During breakfast, the owners visited with us, and got online to find out up-to-date travel info for us. We would stay here again.

I first wrote a review of this motel in 2011 saying it was: "a perfectly fine no-frills place for the night on a long road trip. Clean, quiet, friendly staff, decent enough breakfast (excellent breads), easy walking distance to the tiny town centre. We were there on a Saturday night and we were surprised at how early the restaurants closed... More

I can not say enough good things about this motel. When we were staying here the rooms were plenty clean and there was tv along with free wifi. The owners were soooo welcoming and helpful. In fact on the day before we were supposed to check out our 3/4 ton truck blew a flat tire. We were so upset and... More

We were forced to head west of Boseman as no rooms were available there. College was starting the following week so the town was a zoo. We got to Three Forks and there was the Sacajewa Hotel, which was also booked and would probably have been out of our price range anyway. We got to the Broken Spur and were... More

My husband and I enjoyed a three day stay at Broken Spurs. Our room was clean and the price fair. We took day trips each day, and Roberta, the owner, was kind enough to give suggestions. We slept well due to the good mattresses and quiet environment. We enjoyed walking around town and the local restaurant. We highly recommend this... More

This small town had a few dog friendly hotels, but we chose this one based on the reviews. It was a small, cozy place and very friendly! The location was perfect and the woman who runs it was so very helpful in many ways. She offered suggestions for nearby places where we could take nice walks with our dog, she... More

Totally enjoyed our seven-day stay at the Broken Spurs Motel. Our room, on the first floor, consisted of two queen beds, a small table, two chairs, television and a refrigerator. Room was very clean. Price was more than reasonable. Roberta, the owner, shared the breakfast table each morning with all the guests which was a nice touch in making us... More

Really clean room and comfy beds. Roberta was very friendly and helpful when I called to make my reservation and when I checked in. We enjoyed our stay in the Three Forks area and The Broken Spurs Motel. My mother enjoyed her morning coffee and sweet roll.
