After a looong drive out of Yellowstone late at night this was a perfect place to stay. So clean and cosy, it was below freezing but the room was nice and toasty - even when we got up to go bear watching at 6am, which you can do easily from the Grizzly as it's so close to the park entrance.... My husband and I were visiting Yellowstone National Park in mid early October. Someone we met in the park recommended the Grizzly. One day we had had a full day in the park, the Grizzly Lodge was only one mile from the Northeast entrance, gateway to Lamar Valley. Our Favorite part of the park. The lodge is family owned, everyone... More

If you need all of the amenities of a Hyatt or Hilton, go back to Bozeman. If you want a charming, genuine, clean, "throwback" kind of experience, this is the place. Our positive experience started when WoolyPrincess called and spent a pleasant few minutes on the phone with Anda (Onda, Awnda ?) making reservations. When we arrived, there was a... More

Wonderful staff, clean rooms, had a great time!! Came in on Harleys soaked to the bone. The staff let us dry our clothes next to the wood stove in the main building. It would have been better if the weather had been more stable!!

This is the third time we have stayed at this place - One needs to remember that Silver Gate is a very seasonal and high altitude town - it does shut down during the winter because it becomes snowbound. There are year round residents, but the only way in and out during the winter is through Yellowstone National Park. That... More

Maybe it's because you'll feel like you stepped back 50 or 60 years and are staying at a midcentury lodge motel, or maybe it is just the supercool hosts -- I, too, cannot explain the allure of the Grizzly. We lucked out & got a room on Labor Day weekend WITHOUT reservations & the owner (Gardner, I believe) was very... More

Best Lodge to stay when you want to access Lamar Valley early in the morning for wildlife viewing. This lodge is just outside North-East Entrance gate of Yellowstone National Park. We stayed 2 nights here. Room were neat and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall we had great time here.

To start off, if there is a more scenic town in the U.S. than Silver Gate, MT, I surely haven't seen it. This place is epic! Rustic, historic charm, nestled amongst dramatic, towering crags. And a super relaxed and friendly atmosphere to boot. Somehow, in contrast to jackson or even west yellowstone, it feels small and cozy and real. As... More

Dear Grizzly Lodge, I can't recall a time when I felt more comfortable at another's home. I had the most wonderful weekend up in Silver Gate and have the Grizzly Lodge Team (Gardner, Sama, and Anda) to thank for that! They were so kind at check in and made sure we had the best possible time while visiting. The warm... More

I've never written a Trip Advisor review, but I've read many when deciding where to stay. Some of the reviews written for this location seem questionable as to the source. This was a family vacation. This was not a great location for children, as the discussions around the campfire were heard from in our room, and contained many words I... More
