The owners boast using their WIFI in "their" lobby. But it turns out, that they meant, the front porch. Now if you've never been to Montana in August, the temperature drops like a stone at night, so front porch = cold. Very unfriendly owners. The grampa said in regards to the lobby, that this was his family's residence, that they... more

WE recently stayed at the Grizzly Lodge for a trip to Yellowstone. The kids loved it. The large grassy play area was a treat for them. They played and ran and sat out around the campfire at night. The river right behind the lodge gave them hours of fun without leaving the property. They threw rocks, waded and fished with... more

Had been through here many time but have never stayed. Was looking for a cabin but the price was right for what we got. The room was REAKing of cleaning fluids.. but it was clean. Basic 1960's style room and easy to get in and out of the property. Everything in Silver gate is log or log faced. No ice... more

The location is what this place is all about. There are no 'extras' in this motel. It is clean, quiet, and really close to wildlife (buffalo, grizzly bears, black bears within a few yards sometimes). If you have never stayed in a remote area like this there are things you should bring. I noticed one person from Europe seemed at... more

If you are coming to stay here, it should be for your surroundings. The owners and managers of the Grizzly Lodge do a nice job, with a basic back-country motel. We didn't come here for the amenities, but to be close to many areas of Yellowstone that would have been farther away from any other place we stayed. This is... more

We stayed at the Grizzly Lodge for our honeymoon. We had a great experience while we were there. The Pros: > The motel is in a beautiful location between gorgeous mountains with a pretty stream right beside it. > It is just a mile or two from Yellowstone and Lamar Valley. > The room was cheap, especially compared to other... more

I loved Grizzly Lodge! If you are interested in going to a place with a bit of charm, this is great for a yellowstone vacation. The locartion is great you are not even five minutes outside of the park. The room was very clean and comfy. The lady at the front desk was great as well. There is a system... more

Wrell, the surroundings may be nice and it's very close to yellowstone with lots of wildlife, but the motel was totaly outdated and had no services. A cup of warm water for a tea was really a problem and the look on the face of the owner was very strange when asking it. We're not here to watch tv either,... more

Great view of Bear Tooth mountains could not compensate for gravel grounds, almost non-existent wireless, no ice machines, no coffee. Road work from Silver Gate to Cooke City did not help dust pollution. Glad to get out and back to Yellowstone. more

We have stayed at the Grizzly Lodge in Silver Gate at least once or twice each summer for the last several years. Accomodations are very basic and even rustic, but spotlessly clean and the location is in one of the most gorgeous settings you'll ever find. Decent cafe nearby (some better 5 miles away in Cooke City), and a surprisingly... more
