We have stayed at a number of lodges in US National Parks in the past and not been impressed. St Mary Lodge was however a good deal better - perhaps because it is run by Glacier Park Inc rather than Xanterra. (Glacier Park has some accommodations run by Xanterra and some by Glacier Park Inc.) Our reason for staying at... More

Spent a week in Columbia Falls but decided to stay overnight one night to do hikes in eastern park of park. Got a room in the motel section across the street. It was clean, quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. It was small. We didn't turn on the TV. No wifi except in lobby. Had dinner is the restaurant... More

Okay, where do I begin. We booked rooms in March of last year, all the lodge rooms were booked so we reserved a room at the adjoining "motel" across the street. The room was extremely small, 15 by 15, dank and dark, bathrooms smelling of mold and there was a t.v. But didn't even pick up network stations. Internet was... More

We stayed in room 751 which is on the low side of prices there - $250 a night. The room is small, dark, not enough electric outlets. The air-conditioning (for heating) was broken. They fixed it the next day, didn't think to apologize. A room for 2 has a desk and one chair (would be better a smaller table and... More

This place is very close to the park entrance. Apparently the St. Mary Lodge is made up of several buildings. We were in the rooms across the parking lot from the main building. We were able to park in front of our room which made for easy unloading/loading of our luggage. Décor is rustic as we found many of the hotels... More

We stayed at the Great Bear rooms of the St. Mary's Lodge. Our room had 2 double beds, very comfortable at that. The view was fantastic and the large stream behind could not be beat for sitting on the balcony. Room was very clean. The food in the main lodge at the dining room or the bar was very good.... More

We stayed in the main building, right up the stairs from the foyer and registration desk. It was the largest closet that we have ever stayed in. And since our room was right above the kitchen, we got to share all the kitchen workers' favorite music (but only the bass line) until 11 PM and then it started right up... More

The little "rustic cabin" we stayed in was little more than a shanty. Not clean (had someone else's hairs under the covers when pulled back), very cramped and the view they claim you have is a joke. WAY over priced for what we got! I no they have a short season, but good grief, $340 for a shanty? Come on.... More

The Great Bear Lodge building had very nice rooms that were spacious and well appointed for a National Park area. This hotel is the best choice in the area. It is less than 1 mile from the entrance to Glacier National park (GNP) Going to the Sun road. It is also only 20 miles from Many Glacier section of GNP.... More

Just returned to Seattle from a visit to Glacier Park and Yellowstone National Parks. St. Mary's Lodge is just outside the eastern entrance to GP, so its location cannot be beaten. Rooms are a bit rustic but very comfortable. If you're looking for a comfortable bed, a one-minute drive to the park's entrance, and Rocky Mountains right outside your deck,... More
