We enjoyed our upgraded room with a fireplace. It was a nice treat because the weather was 43 degrees and gloomy. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. I would recommend this lodge at the east entrance to Glacier National Park.

Your options are very limited on the east side of Glacier National Park. The lobby, restaurant and gift store were quite nice except for the flies everywhere in the bar. I understand at this time of year it is a problem but they should have made a conscious effort to keep the door to the outside deck closed. They were... More

Situated in view of the entrance to Going to the Sun Road, this is a great place to stay on the east side of the park. It is an old historic lodge - but not as fancy as Many Glaciers or Glacier Park Lodge. Our room in the main lodge had a window (one next door did not). The restaurant... More

Dear Polka-Dot-Umbrella, We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time with us! We also enjoy cozying up near the fireplace in the bar. Nothing quite like it after a full day of hiking! Thank you for taking the time to leave your comment! Best Regards, Megan C. More

They are taking advantage of your limited options for rooms here on the east side of Glacier National Park. The lobby, restaurant and gift store were quite nice and as we checked in we thought the high price of the rooms would be worth it, but they fooled us. Don't know about the rooms in the main 'lodge' as we... More

Dear Patricia P, Thank you for taking the time to comment about your recent stay with us. We apologize that you were disappointed with your stay. While we do not have the items you mentioned, Wi-Fi, fridge, or microwave, we try to make those things clear to our guests right on our website. The Great Bear Lodge, however, is our... More

First, this is not a "Lodge" like those in Glacier National Park or Yosemite and such. It is a motel that tries to sell itself as a lodge but falls well short of the well run Lodges in the parks. We can't report on the rooms in the three-story building because we only rented one of the ten cabins. The... More

Dear Rolfer, I appreciate the time you took to leave this comment. The three-story building you mentioned is the Great Bear Lodge, which is the newest accommodation on that property, and therefore the most up to date. I do apologize about no one fixing your porch light, which was an issue that could have been promptly and easily fixed, though... More

We stayed in one of the lodges stand alone cabins. The cabin could use a thorough cleaning. As we were leaving and cleaning we found a number items that belonged to other guests. The bed was poorly assembled and moved every time you moved. We have stayed in hotels all over the world and this one was one of the... More

The options for hotels on the east side of Glacier NP near the Many Glacier area are very limited. We had hoped this would have been better given the price. We had a "Main Lodge Value Room" which was located in a daylight basement. The room was cold, small and dark but clean. It had one small window near the... More

We stayed at this "resort" recently during a trip to Glacier Nation Park (magnificent !) and found, while its location is beautiful, the facilities were an utter disappointment. We stayed in what they call a cabin and found it to be dirty, built of cheap materials installed with poor/shoddy workmanship and a general lack of upkeep, maintenance or thought. It... More

We stayed in the "new" building at St Mary Lodge. After reading other reviews we decided to spend the extra$ and stay in the best. Wise decision because we had friends who booked the cheaper rooms and they were awful. Fairly clean, not terribly updated but killer views of mountains. Remember that it is isolated and seasonal so don't expect... More

It was fine. $90 (plus 7% state and 7% Indian taxes!) but hard to find any place in this area. Not too small, NOT dirty as some reviewed. Only amenity was a hair dryer. No TV, no nothing. But in this region, you aren't going to be spending time in you room!
