I've visited "Chico" a number of times over the years and thankfully nothing has changed significantly including ownership and management; it's still family owned and managed. In my humble traveling opinion that combination is a sure winner over mega $ corporate hotel chains; but if you have read me before you already know my feelings on the matter. So, this... More

I stayed here for one night on a trip from Jackson Hole to Glacier NP. It is an old time resort, and Although they have some newer facilities, I stayed in the oldest part, with no,private bathroom. The room was small and a bit stuffy, but the resort is very quaint, and in a beautiful location just north of Yellowstone.... More

Where do I start? This was recommended to me by an American living in Edinburgh and we're glad she did. As we had one of the North 40 cabins, I can't comment on the accommodation in the main block. However, it's well worth spending the money on a cabin. Fabulous views over the valley and to the mountains beyond. Quiet... More

The resort is located in a scenic area, much larger compound size than I expected. The hotel has cabins, hotel rooms, a coffee shop, a saloon/bar, a restaurant, etc. We stayed in the Honeymoon cabin, which was lovely. The hot springs were essentially two pools, one smaller and hotter, the other quite larger and warm. This would probably be more... More

This is a wonderful resort for couples and if you spend big dollars on your lodging. The main lodge rooms are worse than dorm rooms. The best way to stay here is to spend on the luxury cabins in the north 40. The restaurant is amazing the food all top quality. The pools are ok and really nice and warm.... More

We stopped at Chico's on the way to Yellowstone for a day/night. I love rustic but felt the facility was tired looking. Could definitely use a makeover. Had lunch at the bar- very dark and dingy! Our room was simple. The hi- light was dinner; the steak was exceptionally good and the waitstaff attentive.

Was just....eh! This accommodation is good because it is quiet, however, there was absolutely no ambience. Not sure why the name, there was one small fishing sack hanging on the wall for decor. The carpet was light green and bedspreads were dark green. The room was clean, just a bit of effort could really make a difference in the appearance.... More

Your experience of this place will be determined by where you are. Although the historic lodge sounds charming - and the reception is - those rooms don't have the amenities and basic comforts of the other options. We stayed in Fisherman's lodge - a bit above it all. Nice views and well appointed. Don't get the high option corner room... More

We love this place. It's a perfect Montana getaway spot. We booked a 2-bedroom rustic cabin, a most comfortable room in the Fisherman's Lodge and a room in the main lodge (with bathroom down the hall) for nine members of our extended family (including an infant and toddler). The cabin was cozy, but very comfortable. The room in the main... More

We expected a great time of refreshment and mountain resort. Though the area is a beautiful area, Chico is at the end of the road, nestled in a location that does not really give you the full views. The lodge lobby is quaint and attractive. But the beds were incredibly hard, the hot springs pool was full of families and... More
