Hi, I stayed here early 2009 on a short business trip. It was an OKAY STAY. Nothing too spectacular. Strange location. The staff was friendly. Very nice first impression with inviting lobby and nice indoor pool. Very interesting location near a park, river, downtown, and the university. On my previous trip to Missoula I stayed at the Doubletree (very, very dated and run down hotel) although their restaurant is great. This time I tried the Holiday Inn and couldn't believe how nice it was. Staff was smiling and hotel has a warm decor. The front desk told me their Chef came from Dreamworks Studios. This is an average hotel in a great location. It is walking distance to downtown and the University of Montana. However, I would not recommend this hotel for business travelers. I would have enjoyed my stay a bit more had I received the regular king bed room (I'm tall) I specifically called early in the day to request; instead, I arrived at the hotel to find they had heard my request of "quiet room" but changed it to "two double beds" so I started my stay with a slight irritation... more

The Holiday Inn was very nice and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was great. Our room had a very nice view overlooking the river, and the walking path to the University was right by the hotel. Also very easy access to downtown. Free wireless internet in the room was nice to have. more

I stay at this hotel fairly regularly. It was nicely remodeled a couple of years ago, and I think it is pretty nice for the area. It is in a great downtown location, and I have always found the staff to be friendly. I would always reccommend asking for the type of bed configuration you want prior to checking in.... more
