Historic old hotel. Rooms are very old style, but they are working on updating them.lobby is gorgeous, has one older elevator. It may look sketchy, but it's safe to stay there. Not a fancy place by any means, but the history of it and its downtown, is why I stay during the Bucking Horse Sale. I've stayed in both the... More

Was warned about this place in the past but it was the only "game in town" when I stayed there last summer. The staff person was insistent the I stay in the rooms across the street. Note this was the filthiest, nastiest, room I have ever stayed in. The door wouldn't even close or lock. The carpet behind the bed... More

After having two horrible nights at the Motel 6 we decided to try the Olive Hotel. It was nice to be near the local restaurants and park but that's it. The room was filthy. Stained carpets, trim around the door had been chewed up by a dog, no knob on the shower, the fire alarm was activated from the steam... More

Stayed in older motel across from original hotel. Locks on doors very sketchy. Had to park in the alley and it didn't feel safe. Clean room but old furnishings. Maybe the original hotel would have been nicer?

We had read in an old guide book that the Olive Hotel was one of the best historic places to stay in Montana. We stayed there on our way to Red Lodge and checked in early enough to have a meal downtown at one of the historic bars. The desk clerk was fairly friendly but inept at general desk services.... ...and yet we still felt let down. We wanted to stay at the historic Olive due to its age, so didn't expect the rooms to be that great. As it turned out, the room was the best part. First, the 'clerk' (actually, the waitress from the casino down the hall) got us keys to our room and when asked how... More

Suggested by my girlfriend because of location (off the Haynes Ave mess). Easy parking, access, saw Olive's room too. LOVED THE SHOWER!!!!!!! I want one for my house!!! Close to the 600, 519, and Hole-In-The-Wall and downtown Miles City. One of a kind!

Its sad that this place is so run down. The history of The Olive takes a back seat to the condition of the rooms. It honestly looks like the last time it was remodeled was in the 70's, and I am not exaggerating in the slightest. Though the rooms are kept clean, you can only polish a turd so much.... More

The quaint lobby filled with antiques that were once original was delightful. The staff was friendly and helpful in placing us across the hallway from the "haunted" room which no one is allowed to stay in. We enjoyed a relaxing evening on the front porch with some nice people from North Dakota we met at The Montana Bar. Cocktails and... More

not knowing our way around miles city, we were directed here by a local. we really loved the old timey feel, and the staff were so nice telling us of some local attractions. there really is a lot to see in this little town and the olive hotel has such history, it brings you back in time a bit.
