not knowing our way around miles city, we were directed here by a local. we really loved the old timey feel, and the staff were so nice telling us of some local attractions. there really is a lot to see in this little town and the olive hotel has such history, it brings you back in time a bit.

I've stayed here a few times and can understand some of the other reviews; however, those are most likely written by people just passing through from one city to another with certain expectations based on other freeway stops. This is old school Montana, which may not be up to some people's standards. The light works, no one cares what it... More

I have visited Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia PA. The most amazing aspect of the self-guided tour through the prison built in 1829 and abandoned in 1971, is that before you pay the $12 to tour it, you are told the facility is in controlled ruin. They are not making capital investment in improving the facility, their capital investment is... More

If you just need a place to sleep, it will do, but we would not stay here again. The lobby is cute but the whole place has a worn-out, run-down feel; it's not so much "historic" as "been there a long time". The room had no air conditioning, and with a mini-fridge in the room, I would never stay here... More

Great to find an old fashioned hotel with a lot of character instead of those awful motels on the edge of every town. Very warm welcome and lots of friendly people in the bar. Nice big bedroom with everything you would need. Great diner opposite for breakfast and superb restaurant nearby for dinner.

The room stunk like disinfectant, the furniture had to be from the '6os still. the bath towels were so small they should have been wash cloths. When asked for more towels they would not give us any. they put us above the bar and it was extremely noisey. It may be a historical hotel but it was a very bad... More

Would have got a better sleep if we had slept under the under pass coming in to town. The place was noisy, stunk like disinfectant , the door had been kicked in at one time, and kind of repaired. The shower nozzle was fine if you are under four feet tall. The mattress and pillows old and disgusting . Blood... More

The lobby is the historic part which is not very welcoming to kids because of all the antiques. Free Internet is available, but not reachable from the room. Room smelled like disinfectant or ant spray. On the positive side, it was right in the heart of downtown. There was a city park across the street. All the appliances in the... More
