As we were choosing our vacation route around Yellowstone, we looked at a number of the small towns in Montana. I saw Livingston and went out to do research about the town. The town is rich in history and the hotel fit right in there. The hotel is 110 years old. It was built next to the train station for... More

It's a classic hotel that dates back to the 1800's and has great charm and character. The rooms are comfortable. My bathroom had been redone with a glass shower. It's in the center of Livingston across the street from the historic train station and next door to Dan Baileys Fly Shop. Both restaurants and the bar have great food. It's... More

We attended Summerfest in Livingston and stayed at The Murray Hotel. Our room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very very comfortable. The Murray is downtown just off Main Street and the location is terrific. Two staffers were great and one was cranky---she needs to smile. The Bar is busy and should be air conditioned---just a little noisy and... More

We decided to stop over in Livingston on the way to Yellowstone National Park. The hotel was a little gem. Rooms were well decorated, the hotels was well maintained and has maintained its old feel. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Location is perfect in downtown Livingston and near coffee shops and resturants. Try the resturant down stairs, great food.... More

Room felt like staying in the Ritz, hotel was authentically western. Bedding outstanding. Views from the 4th floor spectacular. The one caution is that wifi is spotty at best...should be upgraded to the standard of the rooms (vs the year the hotel was founded). Highly recommended if you're in the area.

My husband and I stayed in the old historic Murray Hotel in Livingston. Livingston is a nice little town in a great area and walking into the Murry Hotel feels like a step back into the wild west era. Though it was quite far to the Yellowstone NP, we preferred staying in this charming Hotel for 4 days and it... More

To say the Murray is eclectic is an understatement. Consider, for example, that one suite is called "Peck's Pad," after former resident and notorious Western movie director Sam Peckinpah, and still bears traces of bullet holes resulting when Peck mixed too much alcohol with gunplay. Which is not to say the Murray shows its age to disadvantage. On the contrary,... More

This is a fantastic hotel. If you want to stay (and be amazed) at a non-cookie cutter hotel, start here. My wife, son and I stayed for one night on June 13th, this year. The Murray is easy to find... right in downtown Livingston, Montana. The hotel was built in 1904 and has been renovated. We had a small suite... More

My stay at the Murray Hotel was the best and most memorable in my memory. Beautifully preserved, the Murray beckons back to the early 1900's when it was built. You almost expect to run into Teddy Roosevelt or Woodrow Wilson because of the way it has preserved the past. The room was a beautiful suite consisting of a sitting room... More

We stayed one night at the Murray and fortunately had what the receptionist called her favourite room that overlooked the mountains. It was nicely appointed and spacious with all the needed amenities including a fridge. Both check in and out were quick and efficient and the staff offered advice on what to see and do and where to eat in... More
