Even though they say free parking, it is only free if you go about 6 blocks away to park, or park after 5:00 pm if you can find a space, then move before 11:00 am. during the week. On weekends you can use bank parking lot. Also, the elevator is over 100 years old and fun. However it requires staff... More

What a great, quaint Wild West hotel - we loved the public areas (including the bar!), and our queen suite was fantastic, with lots of space, and wonderful, period furniture and detailing. From check in to lift to bar to bedrooms... A real, quality experience, and a favourite stopover on our three week tour of Montana.

It's a well-restored, well-cared for old hotel in a great little town in central Montana. It's quaint as can be, with lots of antiques in the lobby and a great old elevator that needs to be run by the staff. It's right in the heart of downtown Livingston, so you can walk to all sorts of great little shops and... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Murray Hotel. The hotel was clean and very unique with an old time feel. The staff was great and welcoming. Location was excellent. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. Great roof deck too on the 4th floor. Only drawback is there is an elevator but only operated by... More

Stepping into The Murray Hotel in Livingston is like stepping back in time. The lobby is filled with old photos and memorabilia from the hotel’s early years. The Murray was strategically built just across the street from the Livingston Train Station, which itself was built to accommodate the tourists, movie stars, and cowboys, heading to Yellowstone. Early on everyone would... More

We stayed at the Murray Hotel for one night, while passing through on our way to Yellowstone Park. We found it to be very charming and comfortable, with beautiful furnishings, interesting history, and comfy beds. We had plenty of space for our family of 4 and wished we could have spent one or two more nights there! I read some... More

This is not your standard hotel review as we did not stay in the Murray Hotel. What we did do was stop in and visit the lobby which is a wonderful piece of history in itself. The hotel clerk took the time to tell us about the hotel and train depot across the street. There were also some displays of... More

Was very excited to at all the funky decor and room style, and initially loved it - then I went to bed. Room was above the bar, unfortunately. Music played until 2 am and then some people decided to continue their party in the back alley directly outside the window until 3 am. At somepoint (I gave up looking at... More

It was expensive to stay here but we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in room 408 beautifully renovated seemed to be two rooms originally. As some reviews have mentioned, they leave you earplugs in the room for the trains you're right across the street, we were not bothered at all didn't need them. The lady that I was speaking to... Although the room was small it was comfortable with a decent bed. Since it is so old the bath, floors, windows, etc. show their age (which is to be expected). The old elevator is neat but not very convenient. The ice machine was broken and there was no ice bucket in the room so had to go to the bar... More
