Went on 2 hour horse ride with dinner. Leonard (very nice and patient) led the ride and the views are Beautiful! Horses were healthy and well cared for. Dinner was very tasty and they sell lots of their homemade mixes, jellies and dressings in their office/store. Entertainment was the Last Singing Cowboy and he was entertaining. A very nice family... Our family of 4 adults and 2 16-year-old boys did the 2 hour afternoon trail ride and stayed for the dinner and entertainment. The trail ride was awesome - scenery is beautiful and a wonderful way to see breathtaking views without off-road vehicles. Horses were great - there is a mix of breeds that I found to be pretty cool... More

We are two Brits who recently stayed at Lonesome Dove Ranch. The whole experience was wonderful. Clean pleasant rooms and caring staff made for a pleasant stay whilst we were visiting Glaciers Nation Park and the surrounding area. Our evening horse ride will live in our memories for many years to come. The undoubted highlight however were Hal & Sharron.... More

This ranch has potential. However, the owner needs to be up-front during booking and state clearly that you need to bring your own sleeping bag designed for cold temps - true whether you stay in a tepee or in the cabins. We stayed in the tepee and when we arrived and saw the beds with just a sheet and fleece... More

I'm very sorry you were unhappy Jennifer. I did express that at breakfast when I asked you why you didn't use all of the extra blankets that we left for you in the wall tent. Our temperatures are averaging about 45 - 58 at night. Admittedly, it was a bit colder than usual, but I have no control over that.... More

The first 3 days of our trip to Montana we stayed with Hal and Sharron at the Lonesome Dove Ranch. We loved every minute of it! We were late arriving because of a flight delay. We called Sharron to let her know we'd miss dinner and she told us not to worry that there would still be a hot dinner... More

We expected a lot more based on the reviews and the recommendation we got from the resort we stayed at the week before. The "cabin" we stayed in was a shed with a bathroom and extremely cold overnight. The heater got the bathroom warm but not the bedroom. The trail ride was boring, nose to tail, and the wrangler paid... More

We are sorry we were not pleased with our stay. Customer service is #1 with us and your disappointment is taken seriously. However there are a few things you might want to know. First, we are a large animal rescue operation. This is done out of our own pocket, including the veterinarian we keep on permanent staff at our expense.... More

I review movies and comment on politics now and again. The Lonesome Dove Ranch has me stepping out of my comfort zone. Why? Because my family and I have been all over the place and I'm a cynical, tough son of a gun when rating and/or assessing a resort, hotel, theme park etc. If you're looking for white glove, turndown... Came here with 3 friends who had never been horseback riding, had the best time! Beautiful trails, beautiful ranch. The owner Sharon is the sweetest lady! Would love to come for a brunch ride sometime. Rates are very reasonable compared to what we have in Washington.

I was shocked to read the one bad review I discovered. Lonesome Dove ranch was wonderful and I'd go back in a heart beat. The owners were warm and welcoming and our trail guide Isaiah was fantastic. He has a great personality and he got to know all of us during the whole ride and lead us through some beautiful... More

We were two single girls road tripping from Seattle through the Glacier and Yellowstone National parks and we found the Lonesome Dove Ranch completely by random - we picked a logical looking place in the map and then did an internet search. It was one of THE best finds on our entire trip! We sent several nights at the B&B... More
