Valentine's Day get away, dead of winter in Montana. What to do? Drive to a nearby location that you don't know all that well, & have a romantic weekend with the one you love! After an on-line search, I decided to talk to the owner of the Carolina. She was gracious, encouraging, inviting . . That's all it took. We... More

I had the idea that instead of staying at a big box hotel as my wife and I usually do, we would try staying at a B&B. This trip was about the experience. After some rushed research, I chose the Carolina on a whim. It was exactly what we were looking for. A relaxing stay with great hospitality. There is... More

How many times do you walk in the door of a B & B and feel you are at home at last after a long absence? We were given an inviting tour, asked when we wanted breakfast in the AM, then shown our lovely room. After settling in we were off to Carroll Cathedral and the historic downtown area of... More

We have stayed in bed and breakfasts all over the country (and world), the Carolina was one of our most memorable - truly a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Anisette Room which was an experience in quiet comfort. Beautifully furnished with a fabulous bed (and bedding), we really felt like we were in our own private oasis. Breakfast was... More

I basically liked the place but some little problems added up and took away from the experience. The side extenders on the room air conditioner didn't come close to sealing up the space between the window frame and the air conditioner. The solution - rolled up bath towels were put on either side of the unit - unfortunately they left... More

THE GOOD...our hostess Pat who was very gracious welcoming us late in the evening even tho our reservation had been lost and she had no idea we were coming or how long we were staying....she's also an excellent cook and cheerful serving breakfast.... THE BAD.... the owner is in Alaska and the contact number is hers in Alaska....so it became... More

My daughter and I stayed in the large and lovelt Corak room in this beautiful historic mansion. Everything was perfect! The outdoor patios were wonderful places to sit and catch up on emails or reading, the walk to the doentown pedestrian mall and its fantastic restaurants was short and pleasant, the room was gorgeous and equipped with everything you could... We agree with the many positive reviews that we read when considering staying here. (we rely heavily on reviews) The home and hospitality was excellent. This old home is in excellent condition and is located in such a great older area, also in easy walking distance to downtown. We stayed in four different "turn of the century" homes in three... More

All I can say is they set the bar high! We had an amazing stay. Not only is it walking distance to downtown, Colleen and Pat were welcoming and so helpful in recommending a great local restaurant. Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, not to mention the bread pudding, and fresh strawberry and white chocolate scones.... More

We spent a night at The Carolina B&B while passing through Helena on our way to Glacier National Park and had a wonderful stay. Colleen was very accomodating, the room extremely comfortable, and the breakfast top notch. The inn is a beautiful victorian home in a lovely neighborhood. Too bad we didn't have time to stay longer!
