Sam's review: As someone mentioned in prior reviews, this is a very local, mom & pop style motel. No frills, but it does the job for someone visiting the Yellowstone National Park, or doing an early morning rafting at the Yellowstone River. 10% AAA discount is also a plus. But one thing to make sure though is that they do... More

I was late to make reservations for five rooms in September, close to Yellowstone Park. I used to stay in West Yellowstone, but the prices are sky high nowadays and it has become a very commercial town. I checked other possibilities and found the Yellowstone River motel in Gardiner. I tried to make reservations on internet, but after I did... More

Nice mom and pop motel/motor lodge. Very clean and reasonable rates ($106 per night). This was a great location for touring Yellowstone, by the north entrance. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend if you like clean, good location and rates, and enjoy getting out of the boring chain hotels like we do. Met some really nice people here as... More

I was pleasantly surprised on this motel. Room was spacious and clean. I traveled at the end of season which usually mean rooms start looking tired (as in needs a through deep clean) but the room was nice. I could tell it had a new paint in the beginning of season (few chips, but not owners fault). There is a... More

We stayed in this motel with just one night to spare in Gardiner, and it's a great choice on the less-expensive end of lodging in town. Couldn't quite see $170 for a Choice hotel. (We stay at that chain fairly regularly with some success and some disappointment. I just don't think of Choice as a $170 room, if you know... More

We stayed in the old section of this motel. The room was small, yet clean, queen bed was comfortable. The bathroom was the size of a travel trailer bathroom....never saw a triangular sink before. They did have a refrig and microwave but no hair dyer, coffee was in the front lobby along with the ice machine. If you are just... More

They offer a AAA discount, on top of being the cheapest accommodation in the area (and closest to) just outside the park. With AAA, $100 for the night for a room with two double (queen?) beds. They've got an adorable patio out back that overlooks the Yellowstone river, and that alone is worth it. Fridge, microwave, and tv. I'd recommend.

Our daughter had booked us a room at the Yellowstone River Motel when we were on a trip celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. I am always been hesitant to pick hotels that I know nothing about, however, this one was a truely marvelous exception to the rule. The staff was great, Bill and Norma, the rooms were very modern, comfortable,... More

We had a great stay at the River Motel. We only stayed one night, but we wished it had been a few more. The location is fantastic. The views out our window were beautiful. The views from the backyard garden were stupendous. The service was friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable. We could walk everywhere in town.... More

Very clean nice quiet motel. The rooms are quite fresh. The services are basic (no breakfast but good Wi-Fi), but within what one could expect from good motel. The receptionist was very helpful in directing to a good restaurant. The linens are exceptionally clean, on par with good hotels. Some equipment might be outdated (tube TV, room AC), but well...
