It is a fairly basic and clean cabin at a good location. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom worked fine. We got a good size room with a desk and chair. It is at a great location on the east side of the park right next to St. Mary's lake and close to quite a few good hiking trails.... more

When I worked reservations for Glacier National Park in the '70's, I had never seen the inside of the Rising Sun cabins. My 21yo son and I were in one of the "store motel rooms" in the same building as the General Store. A great rate for an "inside the park" accommodation. This is an ideal spot to use as a base for covering the east side of Glacier National Park. The cabins are nostalgic and comfortable, with the only downside being that they are small. Just like the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, you get very little and pay very much for this place. You get a bed (or two), a shower, a toilet, a heater, and a roof over your head. This place has a nice sitting area by the camp store where you can sit and drink beers, searching the mountainsides for goats and bears.... more

I have to admit that these were my favorite cabins in the cabins we stayed in… although the cabins at swiftcurrent are larger, our did not have a bathroom. The cabins at Rising Sun have bathrooms. The rooms are large and it looked like they received new carpeting in the last 3 years or so. The location is very convenient. more
