My sister and I travel all the time for business and for pleasure and Glacier has always been one of our favorite spots to visit in the States, this is the first time we came across Summit and we are in love with it. Lodging is always tricky in Glacier is either to expensive and sometimes you don't even get... More

Comfortable cabins, but cold when it snowed in early September. No Wifi in the Cabins, but available in the Restaurant/Reception The cabins are set by a river and railroad. The trains' engines are quite noisy as they strain round the upward sloping bend. Restaurant serves good quality food, but quite expensive and not open every night. No breakfast, with nearest... Hello Bob, Thanks for the kind words about our very comfortable cabins and your experience with our restaurant. We do pride ourselves on making all of our food in our restaurant, nothing frozen and the beef is locally grown, the vegetables are from local food proveyors ,we dont buy anything premade and through our reviews our guests notice the difference... My family stayed at the Summit Mountain Lodge for three nights in early Sept. Upon arriving after a long day of driving we were warmly greeted by Ted, Mara, and their friendly dog Oso. Mara personally took us to our cabins and made sure we had everything we needed. It was clear throughout our stay that the owners put their... More

Let me start by saying that this is a works in progress property. The new owners are working hard to make this a really special place and are succeeding. Given time they will really have something special here. First the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, including the owners who go out of their way to see that your stay... More

The cabins are attractive wood w/green metal roofing & had a lovely view of mountains. However, they are very near train tracks & a spur line & the trains are long (100+ cars) & frequent, at least 10-12 a day, & 5 or 6 every night. They are loud & often use the whistle, either because of animals or the... More

Dear Lehn, Thank you for enjoying our spacious and comfortabel cabins. We do appreciate the feed back, unfortunately you were not able to enjoy all of the peace while walking on our nature trail. The trail is about a mile long and windsthrough the forest along the river where you will be sure to see alot of waterfowl, king fishers,... More

We really enjoyed the privacy of our own log cabin. Very large, very clean and very comfortable. Alison who greeted us was a pleasure and makes a delicious latte. Unfortunately we were there on a Tuesday night when their restaurant is closed so opted to keep it in the famy and dine at the whistle stop, owners parents. Good home... More

We loved our cabin, the Sinopah! It was huge. Smaller bathroom but very modern, very clean, plush towels. We had two queen beds, there is a table with chairs, microwave, small frig, coffeemaker. Heater/air conditioner all in one unit on back wall. At check in, we were shown around the old train station which is where the office/restaurant is located,... More

Choose this site off the Internet and just what expected per other reviews. A bit of quaint with the 'train station' main office/restaurant. Mara & Ted were very gracious and accommodating. No TV or Internet in cabin but we came to Glacier to be away from it anyway (Main office does have Internet). Cabin was very clean and met expectations.... More

My wife and I stayed at Summit Mountain Lodge for 9 nights (5 in the Rising Wolf cabin and 4 at Running Rabbit) in early August this year. All in all, I can’t say enough positive things about the owners / staff, lodging, and also the food! Prior to our arrival, my wife had corresponded with Mara (one of the... More
