This place does have character! We stayed in the "Quad Room" which had a bunkbed with double on the bottom, single on top, and another single bed. The weather was exceptionally hot and our hosts made sure the fans were on ahead of our arrival so it was as cool as possible, and it definitely cooled off nicely in the... More

Some people may complain about the creaking wood floors and a cramped feeling. I found it enjoyable and added to the rustic experience. I enjoyed talking to the backpackers and travellers upstairs in the lounge area. There also had a community kitchen. The showers were warm but I would've liked a way to create a bit more privacy. The friendly... More

We stopped here in a fluke on our way to Glacier National Park. There were four of us and I am the only one with a food allergy (intolerant to Gluten). When I asked about gluten free bread, I was informed that there wasn't any. Dylan, however, offered to make me a sandwich if I had my own bread. I... More

I stayed here only for one night. I was going to stay longer. It's convenient for Glacier National Park and affordable. But I found this place quite depressing and didn't want to stay anymore nights. The atmosphere is horrible. It's really dim lit with hardly any natural light. The wood cabin is cold and you can hear every movement. There... More

I was on my first visit to Glacier National Park, and wanted to camp in the popular Many Glacier campground. I knew you have to arrive pretty early in the day to assure getting a spot there, so I planned to stay at Brownies, about 60 miles away, the night before. They weren't busy the early-September night I was there,... More

I have stayed abroad, and Hi-Brownies was perfect for a Hostel expirence. The bathrooms were clean, I stayed in the private room and it was worth the extra money. I spent 3 days hiking and I just needed a place to sleep in-between hikes, and this was perfect. It's a nice quick walk from the East Glaicer train station too.... More

While backpacking Glacier on the east side, my group needed a place to spend the night when our train arrived. Brownies is a short walk from the train station, so we stopped to see if they had the room. They were very helpful accommodating us, and I think it was $7 a night per person. There were about 15 of... More

Of the five regional hostels I've stayed in this is one of my favorites. It's cozy, clean and relaxed and fits perfectly with the rustic Glacier National Park vibe. East Glacier Park is unpretentious, not ruined by commercialism and the locally owned businesses provide a much more authentic travel experience. East Glacier Park is actually in the Blackfoot nation as... More

We stayed 2 nights at Hi Brownies. The staff was very nice, the common areas where cozy and everything was clean. The only problem is that the noise and thermal isolations were inexistant: we heard everything from the other rooms and the room was always very cold (although it was exceptionnaly snowing outside so maybe in real summer it s... Stayed here for my second time. First time was four years ago. Very accommodating to their customer needs. Spent the evening chatting with globe trekkers from Spain, Lithuania, and Australia. If you want a five star hotel, then book one. If you want a great experience, then check out Brownies.
