Positives: historic and impressive; beautiful grounds, wonderful fire in the lobby fireplace when the air got chill, heated pool, access fr our room to veranda felt private most of the time. Hesitation: the pillows are terrible - kind of 1/2 pillows with poly filling not too densely packed. Staff at desk not informative or helpful. Wifi never worked. No elevator... More

It would take a 5-star resort to live up to the spectacular nature of Glacier National Park. Don't kid yourself and don't expect too much, but if you accept the disparity of nature's grandeur and man's ability to create a hotel then you won't be disappointed. This traditional western "lodge" has all of the pleasant trappings of a relaxing hotel... More

This hotel is incredible. Back in the early 1900's they were not worried about the use of timber in building the hotel. In fact they wanted to make a statement! The hotel uses huge support columns inside the expansive lobby that are trees, with the bark left on! The roof is supported b 20 - 30 foot lodge pole pines.... More

This hotel is one of the worst I have ever stayed in, both nationally and internationally. The staff, which is mainly young college students were great, but the property itself is horrible. The property which is over 100 years old has not been maintained or cleaned well. The rooms are dark and dusty, and the bathrooms awful. The shower and... More

The Glacier Park Lodge is a short walk from the Amtrak train station which works out good since you'll most likely get in after 10PM coming from the east. The rental car (Avis) is walking distance too so you can't beat the convenience. We're glad we experienced the lodge. The lobby doesn't disappoint as you'll feel you stepped back into... More

This hotel group from reservations to daily hotel service is just terrible. We had to make some changes due to in climate weather and they were VERY unfriendly and not accommodating. I sensed the level of poor service when I first booked my reservation and should have gone with my intuition and booked somewhere else. Their reservation agent "Alyssa" was... More

Yes - this hotel is old - but it has history and you really can't expect a lot from a hotel that is only operating a few months out of the year due to the severe weather it is forced to be subjected to and that was built in the early 1900! The room we had was very comfortable except... More

Park lodges need to be put into perspective. When the next best alternative in most cases is camping out, the old rooms and cramped bedrooms suddenly seem just fine. After all, a hot shower after a full day of hiking is great....even if you bang your elbows when you make any move in the shower. The most impressive part of... More

You must expect that the rooms will be a step above spartan when booking into a historic lodge with a limited tourist season. The upgrades are modest but the rooms are comfortable. We hit a stretch of hot weather but with the fan provided, the room kept comfortable at night. We were out enjoying the beauty during the day and... More
