We loved the family owned High Country Motel. Paige & Brandon were great in helping us find where wildlife may be found, nice picturesque landscaping and getting us into our cabin. The grounds guard, Raven, was a nice site to see every morning. Our cabin was very clean, we all slept very well. It's not a Marriot, but just what we... More

This was a perfect stopping point for our exit from Yellowstone before heading out beartooth pass. Had a great time walking through Cooke City for shops and dinner. Room was very basic, no breakfast, no real security for the door, just the knob lock. No DND sign so we had the cleaning crew unlocking the door early in the morning... More

The motel is located on the west side across from the visitor centre. The motel room we had was very basic-2 queen beds, a small table and 2 chairs, no more. There was no place to put your luggage so any more than 2 people in here would be very tight. It would be ok for a small family. The... More

This motel was perfectly located between the Beartooth Plateau and Lamar Valley of Yellowstone National Park. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved having the windows open at night. The best feature was the owner who lent us a fishing pole so my seven year old grandson could fish. That was the highlight of his trip. I thought the... More

My father and younger brother and I all tackled a 9 day motorcycle adventure from Edmonton, AB, through Missoula, Boise, arriving in Idaho Falls on a Wednesday. The room I'd planned fell through, so we found the last room at the High Country Motel the night before. Arrived there after a long, awesome day of Yellowstone Nat'l Park goodness, arrived,... More

Stayed one night, two rooms in the first week of June 2015. Made reservations by phone (no internet reservations available, at least at the time I booked back in March). Thought we were going to arrive extra late at night and the management (which is a family) were glad to work with us (although it turned out we were able... More

We stayed in room number 12 and it was nice and clean. The bathroom was nice and the sink was nice. The beds were a little lumpy but other than that I would say I would recommend it to a friend. Within walking distance of several good restaurants.

The High Country Motel and Cabins gets my highest recommendation! I had made a reservation in March for a visit in mid-June 2015 -- a reservation you have to make by calling, in person. No web reservations, nothing like that. That's already several points in the "charm" column. And I made the reservation, got a confirmation number, and had a... More

Our room had a wonderful view. Everything was clean. The beds were comfortable. Service was friendly. The mini-store at the motel office carried a thoughtful selection of items to make sure any stay is the best it could be. Cafe Cooke just steps away from the motel is a fun take-out or open air dining place with good home cooking.... More

This is a wonderful motel in a wonderful place! In my opinion its the best motel in Cooke! The rooms are clean, super comfy bed for a great night of sleep, and a cute little store to buy coffee for in the morning. The Owners ( Paige and Brandon) are always working hard to make this place feel more like... More
