This was our 2nd stay at High Country and we will stay again. We were allowed to check in early so that we could get situated and head into the Park. Only negative was our older TV had barely any sound, which we didn't discover until late in the evening and which we forgot to report.

We stayed in Cabin #4. The cabin was rustic and comfortable, with a kitchen. The bed was VERY comfortable and the cabin was very clean! The TV was an older CRT model but the picture was very good. Wifi was available, however we were not able to get a good connection. Cooke City is a great town and The High... More

Recently renovated, great views and a perfect place to stay to rest up before you head across the Beartooth Pass or get ready to enjoy Yellowstone. Cooke City is a great town and The High Country Motel has charm and wonderful owners who love what they do. It shows. We spent the night in cabin 1, slept soundly and were... More

We wanted to stop close to Yellowstone and they had an available room at a good price, so we booked ahead. It was a good move. The manager was very friendly and accommodating. The room was somewhat rustic but comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the bath towels were some of the plushest we found on our trip. The TV... More

We arrived late with no reservation. We were tired from our travel. Brandon, the owner quickly accommodated us with a very nice room including a fireplace with firewood. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom included very nice soap and plenty of towels. The room also had a full kitchen which served our needs very well. Simply put, we can't... More

We arrived late, but the owners left a note on the door telling us which cabin was ours and we found it unlocked with the light on waiting for us. Charming, comfortable place very conveniently located for a few miles outside the northeastern entrance to Yellowstone. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed here, in a cabin, for three nights and had a great experience. The price is great, the owners are wonderful and the access to Yellowstone is easy. The cabin was clean and fit our needs perfectly and the owners were extremely helpful before our stay (while we were planning our trip) and during our stay. Cooke City is... More

I’ll admit I went into this one praying for the best of the worst. Especially when compared to hotels in West Yellowstone or Jackson, this one had the lowest price out of my Yellowstone visit—AND we booked the duplex with a kitchen! (not all rooms are similar) Naturally I was expecting SOMETHING off—but overall the experience was great! It was... More

We ended up going way out of our way to get to Cooke City, MT due to the Pass being closed, and no signs to indicate where to turn. We got into the area at about 915PM. I forgot to write down the name of the place we were staying. We ended up going to almost every single lodge in... More

My husband and I stayed there 5 nights in June 2014 and had a wonderful stay. The owners directed us to a waterfall that wasn't our list of waterfalls to see. They checked with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and we will be back Great location, close to Lamar Valley in... More
