We booked the Elk Horn Lodge for our first trip to Montana, and were impressed from the moment that we pulled in. The location in town could not have been more perfect. The exterior of the hotel was impeccable, the buildings looked newly painted and the gardens were truly beautiful, you can tell a lot of time and care has... More

My husband and I visit Cook City every year and would not think of staying anywhere other than the Elk Horn Lodge. The Elk Horn Lodge is cute, cozy and fantastic. Jeff and Lisa are the perfect hosts and make you feel at home. The location is ideal. They are in the center of town and only a few miles... More

After 50 years of wondering if Cooke City had changed from his boyhood memory, my husband and I took that nostalgic trip. We only spent one night but he (we) fell in love with Cooke City (again). Previous guests are loyal to this town and hotel for a reason. Lisa and Jeff were terrific and we loved chatting with them... More

Stayed at the Elk Horn for 2 nights in July on a trip into Yellowstone. Our room was very spacious and clean. The location in town and near the Park was excellent. The price was very reasonable with the staff very accommodating.

My husband and I visit the Yellowstone area every year, and choose to end our trip in Cooke City at the Elk Horn Lodge. Lisa and Jeff are the perfect hosts. They are very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. You feel like you are staying at a friend's home. Jeff is very honest with the latest fishing updates of YNP and... More

Decided to stay overnight in Cooke City on a whim as I was passing through to Yellowstone because it was such a quaint little town. Upon checking in, the owner offered to let me see the room before renting it, was very friendly and gave great suggestions for places to eat and things to do in town. The room itself... More

Easily the best hotel I stayed at during my time in Yellowstone. That counts the hotels that I stayed at in Jackson, Gardiner, and West Yellowstone during my stay in the park. The hotel is owned by a great married couple who will meet you when you check in and give you the most warm welcome you can think of.... More

Firstly, I try to give a factual non emotional report on all the lodgings I stay in whilst travelling. I am suspicious of reports that are full of angry emotional outbursts. The review that claims that the owner of Elk Horn was rude about not taking pets, and that the owners of another hotel apologised for their behaviour, is hard... More

Thanks for taking the time to review our motel! It's nice when guests that know us sees what really goes on in the motel industry and take the time to let future guests know what actually happens on these sites. Jeff and I really appreciate it!
