We were 2 families and booked 2 rooms for a night.. Location is fantastic and we stayed here primarily to go to Lamar Valley to see wildlife early in the morning.. The lodge is only 20 mins from the Northeast entrance and this enabled us to reach Lamar valley at dawn and we managed to see wolves and grizzlies and... More

Did not stay here, but came for breakfast with a group of five. Our order was taken quickly, with many additional requests (dry toast, sugar free syrup, no powdered sugar, etc). Breakfast arrived exactly as everyone ordered, plus it was excellent! Highly recommend it for breakfast.

Spent the night here with a group of motorcyle riding friends. If you're looking for 5 star rooms and service, perhaps you should keep on going to the Roosevelt lodge in Yellowstone. What this place does have is very accomodating staff, nice, low cost clean rooms, a restaurant (I did not eat there though so can't comment) and a lounge... More

To start with, the people in this small town were very nice to us. I think the hotel is set up more for people wanting to hunt or snowmobile. Rooms/lobby/restrooms/everything is 50 years past remodeling. Food was marginal at best. Buttttttt, to be fair to this town and the people, it is exactly what the people staying would typically want.... More

I generally like funky and Soda Butte Lodge had a funky architectural style that sat perfectly between the road and the Soda Butte Creek. But that is where funky ended and rundown began. Old, cheap mismatched furnishings filled the place. BUT, the worst was the pervasive smell! A sickly sweet over old dirt and i-don't-want-to-think-about-it is the only way to... More

We stopped for lunch, having driven up the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway from Cody WY. Hamburgers and sandwiches excellent and the owners could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We didn't stay overnight but the place looks clean and well run.

We stayed here and our room wasn't very nice. Our room at first had the heat stuck on and we had to sleep with the window and door open all night to try to cool down. They came and fixed heat, now it didn't work at all. So rest of trip we had no heat. It was nice that we... More

The biggest draw to this place is the staff. They are always helpful and friendly. It has a fun bar for the nights, and a good restaurant. The rooms are not the ritz carlton, but the location can't be beat and offsets that.

We booked this hotel last minute and initially were thankful we had a place to sleep. Tried to get appetizers in the bar, but they were swamped and our food never arrived. Kudos to the bartender, believe his name was Dan, not his fault, they simply needed a couple more people working, he was very apologetic. Room was adequate, no... More

This resort was the highlight of our vacation. Arrived in Cooke City late one night, got checked in and had one of the best meals of our lives. Netty and Kenny were working the resturant and both were memerable. The food was great and aftet dinner we watched the news in the bar while enjoying a cold local brew.We will... More
