The Finlen Hotel is actually made up of two different buildings--the main building is older, with a historic lobby with tons of potential but lots of ugly furniture. This is where the check-in is located. This first few floors of this building have hotel rooms--the rest of the building is occupied by residents. The other building a a two-story, 1960s... More

Would loved to have stayed here back in the 40s or 50s when the hotel was in its full glory, still, it makes for an enjoyable stay in the 21st century. My room was quite large and comfortable...no issues with the bed unlike others. It gets very cold in Butte in the winter, and my room was a bit chilly... More

I stayed at the Finlen last night as I like to stay at historic locations downtown. Overall the hotel is not bad, but my biggest complaint is the bed. It is very cheap and gives little support. After reading other reviews, I am not the only one to notice. Also, there were 3 separate groups of loud people throughout the... More

We stayed at the Finlen Hotel a couple of years ago and I couldn't wait to go back. We booked ahead for two nights. It's truly an awe inspiring experience to walk in and see the grandeur of a bygone age. That of course didn't change with this trip. However, our bed that evening was the most uncomfortable we've ever... More

While all the restorations aren't complete yet, my sister and I enjoyed spending five nights there in two bedrooms with one full bath, a refrigerator, microwave and bar sink and a vanity sink in the second bedroom. Both rooms had large wall-mounted TVs and desks. The larger room had a small table and chairs. And, the best news was we... More

My fiance and I stayed here overnight and I can't tell you how underwhelming this place is. Maybe they had nicer rooms somewhere else but the one we got was a repainted motor inn. The best thing you can say about it is that it seemed clean. The beds were uncomfortable, the outlets didn't work and the lights wouldn't turn... More

Classy restoration and update of an historic hotel. After two weeks in national park lodging we almost changed our reservation. We were ready for comfort and modern conveniences. Glad we stuck with the Finlin. It's beautiful AND a bargain! Our two bed room was actually two bedrooms. Modern TVs, dependable WIFI, in room fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Super comfy... More

It was beautifully restored with class! As we entered, I read up on the history- JFK and Charles Lindbergh stayed here! The lobby was rich and ornate, but I still feared a tiny moldy room with outdated furnishings and fixtures. Much to my surprise, we found it very clean, with all new plumbing and lighting fixtures, beautiful black furnishings and... More

We stayed here for one night and it lived up to most of the reviews. We stayed in the motor inn and it was exceptionally clean and a fantastic comfortable bed. Lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. There was a bit of noise carrying from other rooms but we were lucky and no noisy neighbours. All in all... More

The big chain hotels near the highway in Butte all seemed overpriced, so when we saw Hotel Finlen's listing on TripAdvisor, we decided to take a chance. Finlen is in downtown Butte, but still not all that far from the highway. It has two parts, the historic tower and the adjacent motor lodge (which looked, from the outside, like a... More
