This was our second stay at the Finlen and it was great. Our room was clean, large and well appointed. This historic hotel is right in the heart of downtown Butte and is well worth the short drive from the interstate. We also enjoyed free parking and wifi. There are good restaurants within walking distance. Most definitely recommend!

What a lovely well kept ole time hotel. We were there for my sisters wedding and it was wonderful. There small ballroom was perfect for the family wedding. We enjoyed walking to nearby restaurants and taking in all of Butte. Rooms were spacious and in wonderful condition.

Staying at the Finlen, it's not hard to imagine the distant glory days of Butte while being in walking distance of some of its modern efforts at urban renewal (Headframe Spirits, Hennesy Market, Folk Music Festival) that may soon launch Butte into the epicenter of hipness. Charming and maybe a little haunted, the Finlen is welcoming, clean, and reasonable priced.... More

We were traveling through the area during Sturgis Bike Week. Never would have thought that 600 miles from Sturgis would still be booked solid with bikers. We were able to get the last room at the Finlen, which was the last room available in Butte. The room was in need of some updating, the bathroom was not nice at all.... More

This was a good place to stay. The hotel lobby is nice, seems comfortable. The rooms are small as you would expect from a historic place like this. The Uptown cafe is just a half a block away and a couple of bars are within walking distance. We had a good stay.

I stayed at the Finlen for the inaugural Winter Blues Festival. Elvin Bishop played the Motherlode Theater with some of Norton Buffalo's old band. The Knockouts opened for Elvin. The show was phenomenal and being able to walk back and forth from the Finlen to the Motherlode and down to the Metals to watch the Grizzlies play Eastern Washington in... More

We stayed for two nights, for an older than 90 years hotel, its wonderful, the rooms are comfortable and we had a great view. The only thing the room didn't have was a coffee maker. In the Hotel also they don't serve food but we went elsewhere. The downtown is like old Chicago and not much traffic, beautiful old brick buildings,... More

This is a beautiful property in a unique city in a beautiful state. So--why an average rating? It was an average stay. Truly, this is a beautiful property and I think it would be perfect for a wedding, meetings, reunions or any other large party. That said, the rooms are well-priced but nothing special. The service is acceptable, but limited.... More

We wanted a place to stop overnight between Spokane and Jackson and we chose this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews but we were really disappointed. The lady who checked us in was not not at all friendly and didn't give us any information about the hotel or the local area. In fact, we didn't realise there was a bar, lounge or... More

Overall this was a good value for a quick getaway. Butte is a very interesting and historical town and it has some wonderful restaurants. Our room was nice sized and clean. We were disappointed there were no coffee makers or small fridge. They did provide coffee downstairs but no other amenities. This is a very historic hotel and we expected... More
