Yes it was a genuine teepee. Very roomy inside, but bare bones, mat on floor with sleeping bag and very close to the fire pit. The field you go through to get to teepee is riddled with gopher holes and no lighting. We are an older couple and were not prepared mentally for the "roughness" of it and the coyotes... More

We stayed here with four kids and had a great time. Darrell and his wife are good ambassadors for the Blackfeet Nation. Sleeping in the tipi was a unique experience and we also paid to have Darrell tell the kids stories which they all learned a good bit from (the big kids learned too!). Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Bathrooms... More

This is definitely a unique experience. The tipi's are in a group out on the plains. There is no floor...just grass and a small firepit in the center of the tipi, along with a pile of wood to burn. They will supply you with sleeping bags, etc, however we took our own since we were in a car. We also... More

It was a great experience to stay one night in a Tipi - much more than we thought it would be, and we are no people used to camping. We had a great Indian Dinner in the evening with a huge buffalo steak! The campground is natural, with tweeting gophers and their tunnels all over their place, mustangs in the... More

Tipi village is a very unique campground. It's on the grounds of Darrell "Buffalo Body" and Angelika's home on the Blackfeet Reservation. They put up 8 authentic tipis for guests to stay in. There is a clean, modern bathhouse and an addition to their home that is used as a common area where meals are served. Dinner and breakfast can... More

As we drove away from our stay at Lodgepole, we reflected upon our family's unique experience while staying there. Lodgepole is the real deal. Darrell is an accomplished artist, gallery owner, and cultural ambassador who emulates his role as a community elder and cultural historian with a kind and gentle seriousness and sincerity. We arrived late for dinner ( got... More

i went with my mom to go visit this place, and i was certainly surprised at... well, pretty much everything! the people who own the place are very kind, they tell you the history of the blackfeet people, and they cook meals for you, (which were very satisfying, thankyouverymuch) and you get to stay in tipi's that were facing the... These are very real tipis, and provide an experience you will never forget. We were amazed at how well a tipi "works." The fire in the tipi keeps you warm. And even in strong wind they are solid. The bathrooms are clean and the owners are super nice people. You shouldn't stay here if you are liking for a Marriott,... More

We stayed at the Blackfeet Tipi Village (aka Lodgepole Tipicamp) for two nights after staying at a nearby KOA Kampground so we were able to make a good comparison. The KOA Kampground offered more to do (hot tub, pool, game room, store, etc.) and the Kabins were a much better value. We paid $125/night at the Blackfeet Tipi Village for... More

We were the first to stay this season. Had to change our date of arrival and Darrel was so very accommodating. Spending the night in a Tipi is a great experience and they make it simple and easy. Heard coyotes, owls and the Spanish Mustangs that roam the property came to visit us at night. It was about 30 degrees... More
