This is definitely not a cookie cutter , 4 walls with a bathroom type hotel. Go to the Hampton in Kalispell for the same price if you want the sterile, corporate experience. If you want flavour, ambiance, and something that has been built with sweat, vision and passion book the Swan River Inn. Margarit is amazing and her rooms are... More

With parents out from Australia, we took them on a Montana road trip. We needed a spot in which to catch up, cook and drink wine on a deck. Enter the Swan River Inn, specifically the Tuscan Suite. Honestly, we opened the door and our jaws dropped. It is HUGE with an excellent kitchen (though weirdly without any sharp knives),... More

My wife and stayed at Margarit's inn and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were delayed by weather and called ahead. Margarit's prepared a dinner for us because all the restaurants were closed. It was great!

We stayed here as had read that it was quite a unique hotel. We were not disappointed. From the outside it doesn't look like a hotel but there is a box by the door which is where our key and paperwork was. We had booked a standard room so wasn't sure on what we would get but when we finally... More

Margrit (the owner) has really outdone herself! Her impeccable taste and dedication/hard work shows through her business!!! We stayed in the Arabian nights the first night and two days later came back and stayed in the geisha!! We absolutely love the Swan River Inn. The wine and popcorn is fantastic! The food even better!!!! We didn't want to leave!!!

Our experience was just awful. We stayed on the Orient Express room. No one told us when we booked by telephone that we would be next to a major highway in an unattended suite. We felt physically unsafe terms of an intruder and because there is clearly faulty wiring. This "apartment" was near a "hot" bar /restaurant just feet from... More

We planned a trip to Big Fork months ago to see a play at the theatre. We made a reservation here and upon our arrival they put us in a different room and advised that there were stairs but they weren't "too bad". We were given the Art Deco room and there are twenty steps, which created great hardship for... More

My husband and I run a guest ranch here in Montana and after our season was over, we decided to treat ourselves to a night in Bigfork. We chose the Swan River Inn and are so glad we did. It was a perfect, peaceful setting. We stayed in the Victorian room. It was beautiful, spotlessly clean and cozy comfy. From... More

Location is great, we arrived late afternoon and we were shown a selection of the available rooms. We choose the Safari room. It had a nice view of the lake. After coming back from dinner we tried the TV. It didn't work. Seems the owner was aware of this and offered us to use the TV in the room next... More

We stumbled upon this quaint Inn in Bigfork, MT because I read good reviews. We stayed in the "Victorian" room which was tastefully decorated with antiques. The bathroom was gorgeous with a jetted tub and they generously supplied quality soaps etc. The only thing I didn't care for was the small table & chairs right outside of the room's window... More
