We were on our way between Bozeman and Billings and checked out places to stay in Livingston, but weren't thrilled with what was available. So, we headed to Big Timber to look at The Grand. We weren't disappointed! We love historical places and also quiet stays. If you generally prefer polished and new, this place isn't for you, but if... More

We search out historic hotels when we travel, so the Grand Hotel fit the bill for us. We chose to reserve a room with a bath, but after reviewing the shared bath situation, that would have been OK too. Our room was small but it was clean & the historic atmosphere of the hotel was what we were looking for.... More

The antiquities featured in the hotel dining room, lobby and guest rooms were amazing. Most rooms were small but very comfortable. Suites were available. Bathrooms were shared but they were clean and you felt transported back in time. Awesome breakfast in a beautiful dining room. FUn experience.

We have stayed at the grand twice. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean. The beds are the issue. We have had two different rooms both with in room bath. The bed in each was very bad. It's a nice setting, it's a cool small town, and the food at the grand is world class, it's just sad that... More

Recently spent 4 nights at the Grand. I loved everything about it. Our room was quaint and comfortable. There was coffee in the upstairs common area every morning. The breakfasts which are included in your room rate was plentiful and delicious. Everyone from the reception staff to the bar staff to the dining room staff provided great service. The best... More

My title indicates that this is the best place to stay in Big Timber not the only place. We did some research and found this to have very reasonable prices. Cheaper than the Super 8. Go figure. We stayed two nights we liked it so much. This place is real authentic old west. It has been updated, but the rooms... More

Nice historic hotel, lots of charm. The rooms need some updating much of the decor looks like they purchased it at the second hand store down the street. Rooms are clean and comfortable, dining is superb and you get a great breakfast with your room! Wi-fi needs upgraded! Not all rooms have baths so check out their website and look... More

This is an old, historic, downtown building. Parking is on the street but ample and free. Rooms are on the second floor but quite a few stairs to get up there due to the high ceilings. The bathrooms are across the hall, but I never had to wait for one and most of them have tubs and showers in addition... More

A fine refurbished old hotel, with interesting old photos hanging around and good ambiance. The bar is welcoming, with some good beers on tap and excellent fried trout on the menu. Breakfast comes with the room, but there's no choice of what you get. We had good fried eggs, underdone pancakes, and ridiculously uncooked bacon. Breakfast not withstanding, I'd stay... More

This hotel is an authentic recreation of a period hotel. Old fashioned bathrooms, sitting rooms at the stair landings, gorgeous photographic art work scattered throughout. Thankfully, beds, heating and a/c and plumbing has been upgraded. But all the character of an old fashioned hotel remains, including great service and lovely restaurant. My sisters and I truly loved this hotel and... More
