The Lodge is just a block off the highway and a block from at least a half dozen very good restaurants and other shopping, making it very convenient all around. There are less than 40 rooms in the Lodge itself, making service very personal. There is no elevator, but I recommend the second floor to avoid foot-stomp noise and for... More

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We also love our location and our intimate setting. I am glad you found our service personal - that is something we strive for! We will have to evaluate the sub-par sound quality to our televisions, and be sure to let people know about the ski lockers upon arrival! Thanks again and... More

Very nice lodge centrally located in town center walking distance from several restaurants, bars, and shops. Beautifully appointed lobby and rooms. Nice large hot tub. Staff very helpful. Reasonably priced. The only issues are poorly lit rooms and lack of elevator. Also, staff could have spread sand or gravel to help with the extremely icy conditions in the parking area.... More

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We have been trying to think of some creative solutions for the darkness of the rooms. And we will get some gravel out there right away! Thank you again and we hope to have you back some time! More

I spent 4 nights here and the hotel met all expectations and exceeded a few. I expected an older and more run down hotel but was pleasantly surprised and the location is excellent. The setup in Big Sky can be compared with staying in the town of Jackson in Wyoming as opposed to the Jackson Hole resort village, but on... More

We will definitely get on that shower head in room 104 - next time if you let us know the first day we can get that sort... More

Perfect stay, great customer service and convenient location next to it all! Great breakfast with lots of choices, more than your average continental breakfast. Right near lots of shops and eating establishments. 6 miles to Big Sky mtn, but I would much rather be at the bottom of the mtn than the top, if there was a snow storm you... More

We spent 4 nights in Big Sky and River Rock offered a buy 3 get a fourth night free and also buy 2 day life tickets and get 3 day free. We only skied 2 days because we spent a day in Yellowstone so we didn't get the benefit of the free day of skiing but it was still a... More

My daughter and I wanted a winter pre Christmas trip to the lovely Big Sky, for skiing and snow coaching tours of Yellowstone. The Lodge was as advertised - the western theme, native American western - very lodge like and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly for us out-of-towner's. There were plenty of info guides around the front desk and... More

River Rock Lodge combines the ambience of a mountain cabin with modern amenities. The registration and lobby area is a great room with fireplace and comfy seating like a mountain lodge or chateau. The room décor is Native American from the photography on the walls to the wool comforter on the beds. The room itself is quite spacious with two... More

Like others we booked this mainly due to the price. We checked in early as we realised we had left some luggage at our previous B&B. The lady on the reception couldn't have been more helpful, she made sure our room was ready, despite being so early, got us settled in, then tried to help us find a solution to... More

Honestly, we stayed at the River Rock Lodge because it was the cheapest place we could find with decent reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The property was well kept and very cozy with the "Montana Lodge" vibe that I'm sure visitors appreciate. The continental breakfast was better than I expected. There was... More

We came to Big Sky to visit Yellowstone, which is around 45 minutes away from this hotel. We were greeted with a helpful staff member that showed us around the area. There were also apples available for free as a refreshment (which is definitely more healthy than the cookies that most chains offer!), and the lobby also displayed a nice... More
