I agree with the "average" reviews. This is a low-end, but adequate hotel. But, beware: there is negligible shuttle service to the mountain village. The small "Skyline" buses have room for two dozen riders, and service only runs once an hour! (So, late afternoon transport back from the mountain is like winning a lottery; if there's no more room, you... More

Wonderfully comfortable, all the way from the check-in, personnel on staff, and the room itself. Very clean, well-kept property, with easy access to golf, mountainside, or the "center" of Big Sky. Excellent advice given by an number of different people at the front desk area (over a period of four days here). I would have no reservations about heartily recommending... More

I loved this lodge: rooms are very spacious and cozy. The lobby is really nice and the continental breakfast is basic but enough to start the day. The hotel is located next to the Big Sky town that has several stores and restaurants and it's 10-15 minutes away of the Big Sky Resort

We stayed here for 4 nights on a ski trip to Big sky and I chose this place based on Trip Advisor reviews. We were so impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the amount of information they provided on check-in. They provide you with a detailed list of restaurants, places you can get discounts in town on ski... More

My former roommate and friend of 43 years returned to Illinois from Seattle staying at the River Rock Lodge for one night. Far too short a stay as we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the clean and tidy room with Indian blankets on the beds, and Wi-Fi that was not a problem in connecting. We ate at... River Rock Lodge is a warm and inviting place to stay, with a traditional old west feeling and atmosphere. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. During this time of the year, most of the surrounding restaurants were closed. We stayed here as an alternative to staying closer to Yellowstone. The drive from Big... More

Clean, quiet, stylish small hotel situated in a wonderful place, at walking distance from Ousel Falls. Very friendly and helpful staff, good quality breakfast, clean and beautifully decorated rooms. Good local brewery located just 4-5 minutes driving away. Shopping and restaurants also very close. I would give them more than five stars if I could!

Hotel staff was outstanding! A perfect lodge! The rooms were decorated with so much character! Beds comfy, close to shopping and great restaurants!! We didn't want to leave! My husband really wanted to see wildlife, so the guy working at the front desk directed us up the road, and we saw moose, elk, deer. The entire area was so beautiful!

The River Rock Lodge is a small hotel located in the meadow Village section of big sky. You are still 10 minutes from skiing but it has great access to the other attractions in the area. The rooms were lovely and the staff was friendly. They had an unadvertised breakfast buffet with coffee, bagels, and cereal which was a nice... More

We stayed at River Rock Lodge when we were forced to change plans in the aftermath of the East Coast snow storm in February. We had to find a place at the last minute and were basically stranded with a lot of luggage and no immediate access to transport. We were also a bit distressed because it impacted the remainder...
