Couldn't wait to share words of praise for River Rock Lodge after a week's stay there. The rustic exterior of the building was certainly inviting, and once the doors opened to a beautifully decorated lobby, we instantly knew that we had made a great selection for a place to stay. Can't go wrong with the value and what you get for it. Very clean and comfortable. Only drawback is that your not slopeside-you have to drive or take the shuttle service(I rented a suzuki outback) They include a very health conscience breakfast-great hot tub and bars/restaurants are all walking distance. Locals are very helpful and friendly-see Andrew at the wrap... more

We stayed here January 5-9 2009 while skiing at Big Sky Resort. It was 6 miles from the slopes but not a bad drive up. Also free ski shuttle available near by. We booked a ski package with our room that was an exceptional value. Great continental breakfast included and other restaurants are within walking distance. Nice big outdoor hot... more

The River Rock is at the bottom of the mountain in 'lower' Big Sky village, where it is actually quieter and more relaxing than the concrete malls and hotels at the ski resort itself. Our family had a very comfortable stay for a summer hiking/fishing holiday. The included breakfast was fresh, healthy, nicely presented. The friendly front desk staff provided... more

My husband and I stayed at River Rock Lodge for our honeymoon in September. We stayed in the Vista Suite, which is their priciest room. If you're interested in a great ski value, try River Rock Lodge in Big Sky. Last winter we booked a ski & stay package with them (and we've already booked again this year). What a wonderful experience! Our stay at River Rock was great, with the beautiful rooms and lobby. The down comforters was about 6 inches thick. River Rock is a bit down the road from the ski area, and not really close to anything is particular. A car is necessary. There to ski, the only negative we had was the total... more
