My 14-year old nephew and I visited Lone Mountain Ranch for a week visit during the summer and loved everything about it. It's great place to have a family vacation. The ranch allows for the perfect number of guests, keeping it smaller, so it almost feels like you're at an extended family gathering. The meals in the dining hall are... More

We came to cross country ski.perfect snow conditions with well marked trails.a very courteous, friendly, professional staff. A first class run operation at a reasonable price. The happy surprise was the gastronomic experience of the restaurant. The restaurant cuisine is first class,by its menu's variety, its fares, its service. The chef Nick Steen is outstanding. The resort as a whole is... More

This was our second family vacation -3 generations, 65 to 2 years old - and I hope it becomes our annual holiday tradition forever! I love everything about LMR, but the staff that works there help make the whole experience so memorable. This place is so authentic and if you want to truly get away, turn off your computers and... I have worked in the Guest Ranch industry for over 45 years and it is the perfect solution to a multi-generational vacation. It offers a atmosphere of intimacy that leads to relationship building. A chance to talk, explore and discover together yet spaces to get away by yourself. Add the personal touch of an attentive and friendly staff and magic... More

This was our second winter week at Lone Mountain Ranch, returning after a good visit in 2012. While there are condos, etc. at Big Sky Mountain Village, Town Center, etc., staying at LMR affords access to Big Sky skiing and other activities, but also a sense of staying in the wilderness. And ski out your door access to 85 KM... More

I am tempted to offer ATLhiker a job in our marketing department as a copy writer. For a winter guest of Lone Mountain, he pretty wells spells out the experience and activities we offer. Our new owners are planning to offer our guests their own shuttle to downhill skiing in winter of 2014 - 2015. Thank you for the review. More

I'll do a more in-depth review at the end of our trip, but while my thoughts are fresh in my mind, I wanted to add to the previous comments regarding vegetarian options. Tonight was the barbecue, and I wasn't sure what might be available for vegetarians given that barbecues are typically meat-focused. I'm not a vegetarian, but limit my meat... More

One of the challenges of operating a public restaurant is meeting the complexities of the dietary requirements of today's traveling public. If you read our reviews over the last two years we have a checkered-board success rate (even with the same chef two weeks apart). Our job is to serve our guest to the best of our ability. To do... There appeared to be nothing the staff wouldn't do to make everyone's stay perfect. They even were proactive in noticing what each guest enjoyed and suggesting alternatives or additional services so that each guest gets the ultimate fun during their stay. Everyone and everything was fabulous.

The second sentence is what made me jump out of chair and shout. It's one thing to serve when asked by guests or demanded by management. It's totally in a different zip code to "initiate, be proactive and suggestive" in your guest service. I congratulate our staff on not just a job well done but one exceedingly beyond what we... More

Having just stayed at the Lone Mountain Ranch I can safely say.....what a place! The location of the ranch is simply breathtaking. The staff could not have been more helpful and fun to be around. Our children adored the kids club. My wife and I fished, rode in the mountains, went on a trip with the ranch (at no extra... More

We love hosting guests from outside the US. They bring a different perspective to our culture and our style of hospitality. Their observation on our all-inclusive rate structure being higher than properties that charge a-la-carte for room, food and activities is correct but we will sometimes be less expensive if you participate in all or most of the "free" all-inclusive... This is a beautiful location, the cross-country trail network is outstanding, and it provides easy access to the slopes at Big Sky. I've been staying and skiing here for years, and it has always been one of our family's favorite winter destinations. Under the new owners, however, prices have gone way up, to the point that it no longer represents... More

In the West, a cowboy's word is his bond. At Lone Mountain the expectations we create by our marketing and past guest experiences are our bond with our guests, especially with former guests. We did not deliver in this case and we are very disappointed. We do wish we had known of these issues earlier so we could have corrected... More

My wife and I brought our 3 children (11,9 & 7) and had an absolutely incredible time at LMR. The staff was great, the opportunity to try new things was fun, and the time together as a family made this a wonderful place to go for an active vacation.

This reviewer underscores the great advantage of an all-inclusive dude ranch vacation..."time together as a family". We take care of all the cleaning, cooking and planning which allows you to spend that time with the most important people in your life. P.S. Don't let your kids know about this or they'll never go with you. More

My family of 6 just returned from a stay at Lone Mountain Guest Ranch, and I have to say that it is, hands down, one of the best family vacations we've had. Our 4 kids range in age from 10-18, and we all went together to participate in all the activities: horseback riding, fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, zip-lining, touring Yellowstone, hiking,... More
