Came to Lone Mountain because my entire family was going for Christmas. What I found was the most beautiful majestic surroundings with a staff of people who truly love what they do and made me feel very welcome. The cabins are well maintained and beautiful and not just clean but looked like they were built yesterday even though they were... More

Lone Mountain Ranch http://www.lonemountainranch.com/ is exactly what we pictured – gravel roads, horses, and wood-logged cabins. The cabins are rustic but have every day luxuries like brand new bathrooms fixtures and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. We stayed in the Blackbear and Cougar Cabin http://www.lonemountainranch.com/winter-lodging-rates/premium-cabin-accommodations/blackbear-and-cougar-cabins/, a two-bedroom cabin with door connection at the bathrooms. The bedrooms were different. Cougar had a... More

Our Dude Rancher's Association Board stayed at Lone Mountain Ranch in late September and I have to say that the accomodations, food and especially the staff were a perfect fit for our small group. Cabins were well appointed and immaculate and our meeting room was the perfect size for us with all of the up to date audio visual that... More

I can't say enough about my experience this past summer at Lone Mountain Ranch. I went this past August with my family including my 13 year old niece and 10 and 12 year old nephews. The ranch had something for all of us including killer food, a ton of activities from horse back riding, fly fishing and a ropes course... More

We are happy to hear that you took advantage of the many activities that this area has to offer, and enjoyed our culinary creations, as well as our log cabins. We look... More

We loved our stay here. It was our kids first time to see snow and to get to cross country ski in such a beautiful area and have everything on property was wonderful. We had a great cabin and loved walking over to dinner and breakfast. I wish some of the dinner options would have had a few more choices.... More

Winter is a fun time for families to visit the ranch and we are so glad that the kids had such a great time in the snow. Our chef has added several options to our dinner menu each night with both a "Ranch Favorites," which includes several options that are offered every night, as well as nightly specials list, which... We visited in mid-September before the browns started feeding hard. My expectation was a guide to put us onto fish. The guide was friendly and had good fishing knowledge. He even had our sandwich lunch set up on a table with a white tablecloth. The problem was that we were in the wrong place. This was day 5 of a... More

We apologize that we did not exceed your expectations. We always strive to give our anglers a great fly fishing experience. We should have done a better job of explaining our full array of trip options which include all the waters in Yellowstone National Park, exceptional back-country trips to the Spanish Peaks wilderness, private spring creeks, plus the Yellowstone, Madison... Stayed here for a week in mid-August, with wife and two daughters (5, 2), shared cabin with extended family of varying ages. This is a ranch resort, and the fun of it isn't the cabins or the food - it is all the fun things available to do. This is one of those places where I wish there was an... More

My husband and I just recently returned from one of the nicest vacation weeks we've ever had ~ at "Lone Mountain Guest Ranch" in Big Sky, Montana. Years ago, someone told us about the great time their family spent vacationing at a guest ranch, so even though neither of us have ever been on a horse, we decided that Lone... More

My girlfriend and I had a perfect all day ride in Yellowstone Park.... Mary our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. I am not a super experienced rider but we covered some stunning scenery and even climbed to the top of a huge hill so that we could see Lone Mountain Peak from the top. The horses were beautiful and... More

The cabins were nicely appointed. Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) stayed in a duplex cabin which is a perfect arrangement -- two bedrooms connected through 2 bathrooms, each with separate entrances. Each bedroom had either a stone fireplace or an iron stove for heat, which was wonderful at night. Meals are served restaurant style - you can... More

I'm really sorry we missed the opportunity to share the best side of the LMR horseback riding experience. We should have taken you on of our incredible all day rides in Yellowstone Park or the Gallatin National Forest . It is true the shorter rides around the ranch move at the pace of the comfort level of the least experienced... More
