We went for the first time since the refurbishment. What a joke. We had four drinks before going to order our food for our Sunday lunch outing. Sorry the kitchen is closed. Obviously opened the pub before the restaurant was ready to open 😠

We were initially slightly sceptical after being told be a local that this country pub had had new owners only a week or two earlier, but if it's true then they've certainly hit the ground running. I wouldn't have traveled the length of the country for the decor, but the food is certainly worth going out of your way for.... More

I recently visited with 10 friends for lunch. The menu included all the favourites and usual suspects. The service was excellent and prices were reasonable. Dog friendly too! If I was to visit the area again I would not hesitate in going back.

Visited this little pub one evening for food with a group of 8 plus a dog. Very welcoming and friendly. Food was fantastic - good quality, home cooked and large portions at reasonable prices! Could not fault it. Traditional local pub with no frills.

My sister and I booked a room here in August '14. The site we booked through (bookings.com) screwed up our reservation and booked us a single room for one person instead of a double. All other rooms in the inn were booked, but the owner/bartender called another B&B down the road and got us a double room there (the last... More

My husband and I ate at the Brown Cow Inn on the last night of our holiday in Kirksanton. Very friendly greetings on arrival from the locals and barmaid. It was a Friday evening and there was only one other couple eating so we could sit where we liked. This is a traditional pub with no frills. I ordered the... More

The 3 of us stayed there for a night during our road trip in Lake District. Pub was nice and local serving nice thick Bloody Marys. Rooms are sufficient size, clean with shower cabin and aromatic toiletteries provided. Towels smelt fresh and fragrant too. Breakfast was spot on delicious. Absolutely loved it.

The pub is friendly and used by locals with a good choice of beers and serves food throughout the day at reasonable prices. Although the food was quite slow to arrive we all enjoyed what we had and would happily go again.
