I spent last weekend at the Lamplighter North with my fiancee. We were well pleased. We were passing through Springfield, and the sign caught our attention so we stopped to inquire. They were running a walkin special at the time that was a great deal. The rooms were extremely clean, and the staff was at our beck and call. Its... more

My husband and I always stay at the Lamplighter South because it's always been a pleasant experience. The prices are very affordable, the staff is so nice and the rooms are comfortable. There is a nice pool enclosed in a courtyard. The continental breakfast is great because they provide the Belgian waffle griddles to make your own waffles. They provide... more

The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. We had the "suite", I call it that because the "suite" is a regular room with a half wall that doesn't touch the ceiling so, every thing is very tight and it is hard to have an entire family in the little room. This hotel is good for one, may... more

What happened to the guy that always checked me in with a friendly smile and already knew what room I wanted and had my keys ready for me almost as soon as I entered the door? I stay at Lamplighter at least one or two times a month and the bald guy at the front desk is always friendly. My... more

We stayed here Sat. eve., Jan 31st, 2009. There was a Sweet 16 party going on in the banquet room-the kids looked rough and were loud. Was wondering if I had made a mistake in booking this hotel. Kids did roam the halls until about 10:30 pm. Beds and pillows were quite comfortable-the room was nice but you could see... more

Lamplighter North--Melissa Oaks-General Manager I'm very sorry, you felt so uncomfrotable at our property. We take pride in our events we book at the hotel for our meeting rooms. The Banquets Manager has been notify of the situation. As the front desk not be very friendly is not acceptable at all and proper action will be taken. I'm so glad...

I had no real intentions to stay but once I saw on the digital marquee that The Lamplighter had free Wi-Fi and AAA discounts I pulled in to check it out. It only was $10 more than I intended to spend and for the location and Wi-Fi (which ended up being only in the lobby) it was well spent. Clean,... more

Very nice, clean room and bathroom. There was a microwave and refrigerator in each room which is definitely a plus. Beds were comfortable. There was a table, 2 chairs and a desk. Also, had a coffee maker and hair dryer. The complimentary hot breakfast buffet was very nice. Would very definitely stay here again. more

I am a Travel Journalist for OutTraveler, a LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) Travel Magazine. I have only stayed here one time, and I don't think that I will ever return to this property again. I am currently doing "undercover" reviews of several hotels in Southwest Missouri that would be considered LGBT Friendly. I feel that based on my... more

I want to apologize that our Hotel did not meet LGBT Standard. I' m sorry that you had problems with our Housekeeping Staff. This problem that you had has been address with the Executive Housekeeper. Proper action has been taken. We base our Hotel on customer service and I do believe we failed on this. We take great pride in...

I have been here several times over the past three years, just beacuse of the location. Each time that I have stayed here I have always been greeted with an discusting building. Staff say that the Hotel is under renovation, and will be completed soon (three years? come on people!) The carpet is old and stained. Tile in the bathrooms... more

As the General Manager the last thing we want to hear is someone having a bad experience at our Hotel. Yes, we are remodeling each room . The new rooms have new vanity and new bathroom flooring, plus new lighting. Walls have been painted as well. We are getting ready to lay new carpet in are hallways. I'm sorry for...

We stayed at this hotel 4 years ago and had a nice clean room. In the last 4 years, things have really gone down hill. We booked two rooms next to each other, both with two double beds. The staff was very friendly. Our rooms were dirty, there was trash between the bed and wall. The sinks had hair in... more
