i thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay here! the staff was very accommodating and friendly, the breakfast was delicious, and the room was very cozy and comfortable. all for a very reasonable price. i think the inn is starting to show a bit of wear and tear, and could use a bit of love (paint, carpets, new pillows on the bed,... This B&B was amazing. I have done a bit of travelling recently, and this is by far the best place I have stayed at. My room was extraordinarily clean, well maintained and spacious, pure luxury as far as I'm concerned. Everything about the house was really cute and quaint. The breakfast was indulgent, very delicious, and the staff couldn't have... More

Another lovely B&B we used this Septmeber whilst traversing the US. A real quaint abode with period fittings & well themed rooms, very clean & good food plus our hosts were extremely helpful with local detail etc. Free parking on site & the lovely university town on Springfield is within 10 minutes walking distance with some really nice friendly bars... I haven't seen all the rooms of the Walnut Street Inn, but if I go back I will ask for the Wilder Room again. It is the least expensive of all the rooms, and one of the most private as well. It is one of only two rooms on the third floor, and it has the distinct advantage of a... More

The Walnut Street Inn is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable and breakfasts are fantastic. Gary and his staff make it a home away from home. You couldn't find a more ideal location to do most anything in Springfield. You are walking distance to Missouri State with all their sports and concerts and Juanita Hammonds Hall... More

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and it was wonderful! The room was beautiful and very comfortable and we'd love to come back when we would have a need to use the fireplace. Gary, the innkeeper, was very hospitable and made us feel right at home. The breakfast we were served was absolutely delicious. The room... More

I think I have now managed to stay at least once in every single one of the rooms at the Walnut Street Inn. I travel to Spfld. frequently as my daughter is in college there, and also to visit with friends, for reunions, etc. I prefer to stay in a B & B wherever I travel, and Walnut Street Inn... More

What a fantastic place to stay. The Walnut Inn is located on the edge of downtown (I think that's what they say in the US anyway...) and is onyl a two block walk from the bars, restaurants, the incredible Moxie Independant Cinema,, and much, much more. But don't be worried, the Saturday night I spent there was so quiet -... More

Ok, so we were much overdue for some "us" time!!!! And from the moment we called we were warmly greeted to the lingering over the scrumptious breakfast (we sat and chatted with the owner for a couple hours at breakfast, nice!). We stayed (Jan 10th & 11th) in the O'neill & also in the McCann room, both nice comfy cozy! We completely... More

The website for this B and B was great, lots of pictures, easy to navigate, lots of information, links to magazine articles, but the inn does not live up to the website. The innkeeper was friendly, but it was difficult to find a room that was acceptable. The public rooms were in fairly good condition and clean, but all the... More
