I loved walking in the front door. The innkeeper says "Welcome home." To be welcomed to such a lovely place set the tone for our visit. I love the inn because you get to live in a beautiful old Victorian for a day or two. It makes you feel so good. It is very clean, there are interesting things to... More

Last spring was our first stay at Walunt Street Inn on our trip to Florida. We were happy to stay there again on another trip through Missouri. We stayed in the Robertson Room and loved it. Plenty of room with all the comforts. The bed was very comfy, breakfast was great and all of the staff were very friendly and... More

We discovered the Walnut Street Inn when we stopped in Springfield on the drive to our wedding. We loved it so much we came back for our first year anniversary. We love the inn and the surrounding area and plan on returning for many years to come. If you are traveling to Springfield, this is the place to stay!

My wife and I stayed October 7, 2014. We like to use B&B's whenever we can. So much more personal and part of the community. This one was excellent! Great breakfast, nice room, great location with excellent restaurant next door. Will use again when in the area.

We stayed in the carriage house in the Jewell room. The staff were wonderful & we felt like we were a family member visiting after a long absence. We cannot wait to stay again. The food was delicious & our every need was met

Nicely decorated room. Had a Jacuzzi tub that 2 can fit in. The bed was comfortable. Was quiet at night, at least on the Wednesday we stayed there. The breakfast was good, eggs florentine with hash browns and a slice of watermelon with fresh orange juice. I guess we are use to overkill with pastries or toast to go with... More

If you don't fancy spending yet another night in an anonymous hotel, then try a B&B. The Walnut Street Inn has great atmosphere and friendly staff, with time to talk and who seem genuinely interested in you and your stories. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The breakfasts were freshly prepared and taken in a quaint dining room, around the table... More

This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. We only stayed one night as we were heading south for the rest of our trip. We stayed in the Wilder room, the least expensive but very adequate. Our breakfast was also excellent. The house needs some upkeep and such (peeling paint, corroded bath fixtures, etc), but they seem... More

I went to college in Springfield, so returning is always a game of "which hotel is the cheapest?" Perhaps it's middle age settling in, but last weekend, my wife and I chose the Walnut Street Inn for our overnight stay. We found Gary, the Innkeeper, very hospitable and accommodating. As a celiac patient, I carry great concern into every travel... More

This is the first B&B that I have seen in which a garage-like structure (a separate building, maybe a former carriage house or servant quarters) claims to be part of the decor of the Victorian main house. The garage has several rooms, all equipped in the late 19th century style. Ours had a jacuzzi and a fireplace. We slept well... More
