From check in it was a disaster. The front desk clerk Alma didn't even tell us or room number just its floor five. It wasn't even written on the key card envelope. It's classy looking. But there's not catered to guests. The restaurant is closed on Sunday. We asked about breakfast and the front desk clerk said there's muffins and... More

Overall I had a good experience at the Hotel Bothwell. I stayed here with my two kids while riding on the Katy Trail 2015 ride and opted out of the "official" Sedalia hotel of the Truman Econo Lodge given I had stayed there twice before on previous Katy Trail rides and both times found that hotel to be over priced... My dad and I stay here every year while coming through Sedalia on the Katy Trail. This hotel has a lot of character and friendly staff. They are very accomodating and will store your bike for you. Location is good as well (not too far from Katy Trail and close to a few restaurants).

Take a step back in time. This beautiful hotel has a rich 85+ year history that you can read about and see in various displays throughout the building. On the National Register of Historic Places. Very pleased with service, and coffee and muffins in the morning were an unexpected treat.

Stayed here for two nights for a wedding. Large and comfortable king size bed was a huge plus! The A/C was cold and I had plenty of hot water for showers and shaving. The Oak Room lounge off the hotel lobby is the perfect place to relax with a cocktail. Great hidden gem in central MO!

The hotel has some VERY unique features … with great history … friendly people … and a special aura. Lots of positive aspects and would not hesitate to recommend it. Concerns: The freight trains roll through town at night -- and the angle of our room (to the tracks) ensured that I was awakened several times. And when your neighbor's... More

Love it. We come here at least twice a year. We love riding the Katy Trail, this hotel is in a great location. Thanksgiving is our favorite time to visit, dinner in the restaurant, purchase a new ornament from the beautiful Christmas trees in the lobby and Sedalia fireworks in the evening. Our tradition!!!

We stayed here on a bike ride of the Katy trail. They were very accomodating and put our bikes in the basement. Room was a bit small, but very nicely decorated and maintained. It's difficult to take an old building and make it operate safely and with modern needs. Staff was quite friendly. Center of town and easy to stroll... More

Loved the old style of the building and the staff was great. Bed was super comfortable, but I had an extra guest with me for part of the night. Something kept sitting on the edge of the bed and waking me up. I don't mind a ghost or two, but I'd prefer one that could make up its mind to... More

We enjoyed this historic hotel at the start of our Katy Trail bike trek. Staff was friendly and accomodating in storing our bikes overnight. Room was small, not unexpected in an older building such as this, but nicely appointed. Two complaints. The first was the mattress was old and sagging. I felt like I was trying to climb out of...
