If you're within 30 miles of Sedalia, or passing through the Kansas City area, stay at this hotel! Wonderful, nostalgic feel you can only get with a boutique. This was my second stay at the hotel in a year and a half. The General Manager, Liz is an absolute "gem". She remembered me (even after a year and a half,... more

We stayed here during a school conference. We had one room on the 7th floor, one on the 6th, and one on the 5th. They were booked full but it was quiet and we hardly saw anyone else. The breakfast isn't wonderful but there are waffles. The decor is beautiful and unique. There is a small fitness center and gift... more

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and liked several things about it, starting with the good rate I negotiated over the phone. The Bothwell was built in 1927 and is a neat old building with lots of history--the basement bar used to be a speakeasy, and when Harry Truman was tapped to run for the Senate he was... more

My husband, toddler and I stayed at the Bothwell for 4 nights at the end of October. We had a deluxe king room which was pretty basic but did have enough room for a crib. The hotel was very clean and charming, staff very pleasant. Getting hot water for showers was our only complaint. We had a sunday brunch in... more

Had to go to Sedalia fora contact job and stayed two nights at this facility. Did not think it would be that great a hotel, but I am a Choice Club Privileges member and the other Comfort Inn was booked. I am glad I did! The Room I had was spacious and had 2 bathrooms, one full and another half.... more

This is where our organized group stayed for the second night of our Katy Trail ride across Missouri (we started in Clinton: Hampton Inn rocks!). Loved, loved, loved the place. I couldn't stop marveling at the 1920s interior-- I have no idea why Hollywood wouldn't use this hotel as a backdrop-- or all of downtown Sedalia for that matter. The... more

I absolutely love this hotel. I stay here all the time on business. It's charming, unique, and elegant. To be honest it has a few quirks, but it is so definetly worth it. I travel a lot for work and this is the only one I enjoy staying at. Free wireless, continental breakfast, and a managers reception in the evenings.... more

We have just returned from a stay at the Hotel Bothwell. Like all the other postings we found the hotel very clean and charming. We chose the room with the “fireplace”. The two full bathrooms was a real treat. I was disappointed though, to find the fireplace equipped with Electraflame technology. I am sorry, but in my book it does... more

This is a great place to experience how hotels used to be when they were great. I purposely wanted the "1927 sized" room to get the full effect and loved it. Maid service had made a mistake and my original room was not fully ready when I checked in. The desk clerk was very prompt, polite, and professional in assigning... more

My family was fortunate to stay at the Hotel Bothwell while in town for a family gathering. Very pleasant and cozy. I was born in Sedalia and always wanted to stay here. more
