The hotel is undergoing renovations, so once it is done, I am sure it will be fantastic. Right now, it is not very special. I wasn't invited to have a cookie EVER and that was disappointing. It was just disappointing that the room itself lacked outlets, and it was old and not quite as clean (grout lines, stained tub, old... More

Stay was very good to average, nothing special. I have had better experiences at DoubleTree hotels. There were two evacuations due to tornados in the area. The hotel did an excellent job on the first tornado watch, but the second experience there seems to have been much confusion. We did not hear anything over the intercom in the room we... More

This hotel is under renovation. It's very nice, but I had to wait with luggage to check in for over 90 minutes. Otherwise had a good stay. I have been asked to provide 200 characters, but have nothing more to say, so I will continue to say nothing until I am allowed to stop at 200 characters. I find this... More

Thoughts of being treated to a warm cookie on arrival were the last thing on our mind after having to wait over an hour and a half to have a room ready for our stay. The beds were hard, the staff was hit or miss. The best part of our stay? The head of valet parking...he was amazing.

A reasonable price for a good hotel in the historic district. Walking distance to major attractions and also to the convention center, which was why I was in town. Hotel undergoing a facelift at the moment, but the service was great.

We were hosting an event there and no one informed me that there would be noisy construction and no one brought in the microphone we requested for just such an occasion. We had several guests attending this professional meeting, some of which were handicapped, and the construction was a severe hindrance. It would have been great (a common courtesy) to... More

This hotel is in the middle of a big renovation so it may not be fair to rate it. The renovation didn't seem to affect my stay but some other things were a little uncomfortable and many things were excellent. I would stay here again but hopefully, after they complete the renovation. My first room did not have wi-fi and... More

I have rated excellent, as I had several great interactions with staff here that boosted the overall rating. THEY made the difference! I stayed in a recently-renovated room and it was fine with minor flaws that I reported to management--they paid for a redo, and there were tiny things missed by the contractor in my opinion. Mostly, management already knew... More

Union Square is phenomenal and what an entrance into the hotel. Then you go through a maze with striped walls that make you dizzy and you get to your room. Disappointing to say the least. Our room was very small and the ceiling very low and most importantly the air conditioning did not work EVER! It was very claustrophobic.

Thank you for your review and I'm also thankful that this type of review will soon be a "thing of the past". Besides working to enhance signage and change the striped wall-paper as we renovate we are also installing brand new HVAC units for heating and cooling in every guestroom. Wednesday, April 23rd I'll be finished with yet another floor!... More

The gal at the desk was very nice and took care of me promptly. I was put in one of the newly renovated rooms. I was told they just opened up the rooms last week. It was so new you could still smell the paint. I could live with that as I was only staying one night. The problem was... More

Thank you for your review! I am so sorry about the drilling; we had furniture installers working on the 5th floor, underneath you getting those 77 new rooms ready for sale. I believe you are 100% correct--the hotel will be very nice once the work is completed. I am very sorry that one of the workers felt it "ok" to... More
