My girlfriend and I stayed three night sat Huck Finn (meant to be two but weather forced another day) while we were doing a cross country bicycle tour. When we arrived we were quickly checked in and shown our quarters, and having just ridden 50 miles through thunderstorms we were grateful to be able to grab nice warm showers asap.... More

I stayed at the Huck Finn Youth Hostel while attending a Conference at the Union Station Hotel downtown. I am so happy with my choice to stay at the hostel. At $25 a night, it is far cheaper than anything else in the city and provides a nice place to stay. Typical bunk beds that you'd expect in a dorm.... More

The hostel, which is located in a neighborhood about a mile south of the train station, is located in a fairly shady neighborhood in St. Louis. The service is fairly non-existent by design - I had to call someone to get let in, and after that, I never saw any staff at the place. This would ordinarily be fine, except... More

I was there for one night and for most of the time I was the only people there. The staff member was rude and not helpful. The Wi FI was sporadic at best and the common room was freezing and heated with a single space heater. It would explain why no one was in the common rooms. I have stayed... More

This place is by no means the fanciest, but as a poor student this fit the bill for my stay in Saint Louis. This hostel is cheap and (relatively) cheerful - the staff were relaxed and the bathrooms were clean. The kitchen facilities were fine and although a bit run down the place overall served its purpose. The lockers were... More

The property is a bit rough and ready. Rambling old houses. But it's clean enough and ample. I was impressed by the way that Qwinn, the reception person, communicated with me and kept in touch with me as I was travelling on my way there.

The shadiest hostel I've ever been to, a statement which my traveling friends agreed to. Pretty much the cheapest place in St. Louis with pretty nice location. Had to be pretty scared about sleeping though, heard some awkward sounds and the general shadiness didn't really help it. Go if you want a cheap place, but don't expect anything but the... More

I called to make a booking - the poor phone etiquette should have been my first tip-off that I probably shouldn't stay here. The owner didn't identify himself, the hostel, or anything, just a "Hello?" Okay.... I ask to make a reservation, and he tells me to send an email. I ask what he all needs to know, and off... More

I recently stayed at this hostel and it was in a really lovely neighbourhood but just a few things made it not as good as I'd hoped, the lights went out on the first day and weren't fixed until we were leaving so we had to shower in the dark, on the first morning a man walked through our dorm... Found this hostel by chance online. Its not the fanciest hostel but its cheap, near some cool bars and met some interesting people here. You do need to be a bit organized to find the place. Its walking distance to the brewery. Check the bus timetable to get downtown.
