This was our first lodging stop at the beginning of a 5,000 + Rt. 66 road trip. After searching downtown hotels, we decided to stay two nights at the MAC. It’s a men’s club that is open to the public. Sure it’s been around for a long time but the most important things were very good. Huge rooms, comfortable and... More

This was a perfect location, close to everything. The public rooms were impressive but the rooms I had on both occasions. were excellent. At beginning of stay, got a small room on 10th floor with view of Eads Bridge. It had everything and was tastefully done. Upon returning in two weeks time, I got a suite which was fantastic again... First of all, let me say this staff went way above and beyond to cater to our needs. Had a couple of issues with the room and they were promptly attended too. No complaint at all there. However, this hotel is dated. The lobby is well-appointed and very nice, but the first thing you notice when walking in is the... More

My husband and I stayed here because we were going to the Cardinals' game. It is a perfect location for this, being a couple blocks away and they even offer a complimentary shuttle. The decor is a manly wood with cigars in the lobby (and smoked in the bar). The toiletries were manly, the room was masculine and pretty basic,... More

This place is Fabulous. One is immediately awed when entering the MAC--- warm wood, gorgeous art, high ceilings. old world charm... it puts one in mind of some of the grand old hotels of Europe. We love this place. Worth a trip to St Louis just to stay here! The art collection alone is reason enough to stay. The staff... More

We spent 2 nights at the MAC, and I am already looking for an excuse to go back! The interior takes you back 80 years, and so does the service. From Debbie at the desk, to Pam (who is looking to retire! what will they do?) to Rob in the Bar and Grill, to Mr. Taylor, I was comforted and... More

I recently stayed at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. The hotel is ideally located in the downtown area and close to Busch Stadium where I intended to take in some Cardinal games. Close to public transit - a couple of blocks from the light rail station. When I arrived the desk clerk was very cordial. I noticed a... More

A beautiful antique and historic hotel.where you can picture men sitting in the separate lounge areas with their cigars and brandy at night. The interior of antique wood and furnishings is a site to behold. i felt as though I was in a 1930's movie set like "Gadsby" except it was real.. The staff's service (especially Gheri) was impeccable and... More

Downstairs, a beautiful old-fashioned wood-panelled gentleman’s club with associated service standards. Excellent gym facilities above that (for a small fee to hotel guests) and beyond that some decent 3 star hotel rooms with comfortable beds and all the essential amenities for a short stay. Cleanliness is fine, the shower ok and location excellent for a tourist visit. At this price... More
