The hotel had just opened after months of renovation when we arrived, and naturally, there were places in the hotel that did not open until the next day. The rooms were large and comfortable, with the exception that nobody had bothered to consult a handicapped person to ascertain what was needed. The tub was too tall, no hand rail by... more

It was very expensive. First glance at room seemed very nice, spacious, and clean. However, it is an old hotel - water quality was poor and their was noise. It is good that they are renovating, but have no concept of how to run a hotel and manage construction. The entire lobby is taken up with construction and doorways are... more

We were not pleased with our stay at all. We had gone for ONE, night and we hated it. The room, its self was big but it came with my surprises. We had to change rooms twice. The first time, because the bath tub has brown water in it with a musty smell. The second time because the toilet wouldnt... more

The look and location of the hotel is all it has going for it. Our room was tastefully decorated and spacious, but not clean. I found someone else's hairs on our bed and tufts of another person's hair on one of our towels! I reported this to the front desk and requested new towels be brought up and the front... more

DO NOT BOOK HERE! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.I would submit a photo, but we never got a room even though we had booked one online 1 month in advance and PAID IN FULL at time of reservation. This is no joke....We made a reservation via hotels.com in November for New Years Eve. Great price, nice looking hotel, good location....NOT SO!... more

Keeping in mind that this is a historic hotel I know that can bring all sorts of surprises. However the entire lobby area being torn up and full of construction workers was a little more than I bargained for. At some point they should have just shut down for a few days to do the really intrusive work that they... more

My wife and decided to go to St. Louis to see a football game and do a little site seeing. This property, although under some renovation, is in a great downtown location. It is walking distance to many of the site seeing areas such as the Arch, the riverfront, the casinos, and the stadium. As far as the hotel goes,... more

We stayed 2 nights here. We booked a suite, and were happy with it. It was very modern and well thought out. While it wasn't particularly large, it was well-sized. The walls are paper-thin though, and our room was located near the elevators, so all night long we heard people talking and arguing in the halls/surrounding rooms. 2 guests got... more

The first room we were given at this hotel was about the size of a shoebox, and didn't have any space to move around. The bathroom only had a shower, not a tub. As a family of three, one bed didn't suit us so I asked about switching rooms. They happily obliged, and we were moved to a two room... more

Stayed last night at the Mayfair and it was fine. Room 1608 was small (a single) but very clean with new furniture, bathroom fixtures, large flatscreen TV, etc. It was VERY quiet. I saw the new building under construction that caused the noise problem for previous posters; that construction is pretty much finished. Folks, this is a hotel built in... more
