This was a true gem in the Saint Joseph area, reasonably priced, and well run by an owner that cares about the details of making your stay memorable. The house is just beautiful, and has a great story that makes the stay a great experience.

This was our first B&B experience, and we couldn't have been happier. The historic home was breath taking, breakfast was absolutely delicious, and Isobel, the inn keeper, was kind, welcoming, and a wealth of knowledge. We would highly recommend staying at the Shakespeare Chateau!

This is such a lovely Bed and breakfast. So many antiques and original work to look at but still modern and comfortable. Isobel is the perfect hostess. Breakfasts were wonderful and fresh. Beautiful grounds to walk in and enjoy. Wouldn't change a thing!

A stay at Shakespeare Chateau Bed and Breakfast will not disappoint. The home is beautifully restored and the atmosphere is elegant and opulent. The owner, Isobel, is a delightful person who has lovingly restored this mansion. The Romeo and Juliet suite comes with a wonderful oversized jetted tub and there is an adjoining library that comes equipped with DVDs for... More

We have stayed at countless B and B's, and this is by far the nicest. This property is beautiful and a must see. Even if you chose not to stay here, (very foolish) you should still tour this property. It is an excellent example of opulence and period authenticity. Isobel was very friendly and a treasure of local knowledge.

My wife and I attended the St.Joe Apple Blossom Festival and this was a great base for the event. It is within easy walking district to watch the parade on Saturday, and also to partake in the BBQ contest, where judged. The breakfasts were really great, and coffe was available early, which we both like. Cleanliness was outstanding, and if... More

This fully and beautifully restored 1885 mansion just above downtown St. Joseph, MO is remarkable. Full woodwork and details, original to the 120+ year old luxury mansion is a great get away! The breakfast was sumptuous and in a lovely dining room. Just the wallpaper is worth the visit!

I spent the most delightful afternoon touring the Shakespeare Chateau. The decoration and furnishings are incredible. The owner of the B&B has restored and decorated the house in historical and meticulous detail -- it is gorgeous. The B&B owner was so gracious, welcoming, and warm. All of the rooms were beautiful. I enjoyed my afternoon tour a great deal!

The Shakespeare Chateau B&B was an exquisite mansion. The stain glass windows were incredible & the woodwork was amazing. It was a nice getaway. Isobel's breakfast was delicious & she was an excellent host. She knew the history of the area.
