A place we will be going back to. The weather was perfect, staff all over were very friendly. Rooms overlooked the very beautiful grounds. Restaurant was great. Wish we would of waited a week or two for the Fall colors.

We stayed in cabin 539 - one room cabin. It was located across the lake from the main resort. This is good and bad, but we enjoyed the location with an ok view towards the main resort. We thought our cabin was almost perfect. The only thing missed was good clothes storage. The closet was a little small and more... More

This was our second trip to Big Cedar. We really enjoy it! We had eight people in two lakeside cabins. Wonderful views, very peaceful. Yes, it is a significant walk from the cabins to activities and restaurants, but Big Cedar provides a shuttle on-call. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. There are activities for kids of all ages, and our... More

The gem of the midwest! Words don't describe how beautiful and serene Big Cedar Lodge is from the lakeside vista all the way up to the Top of the Rock! I've lived in the midwest my whole life and had fleetingly heard talk of this place only I mentally pictured a cheap cedar clad holiday inn outside of Branson. My... More

Service - as expected from a premium resort, the staff was friendly and courteous; however, housekeeping was very lax in getting to our room each day. Room - We have stayed at numerous similarly marketed facilities throughout the nation and this one by far was the biggest disappointment. We were in the Spring View facility and found it to be... Big Cedar was a great place to stay. They have several restaurants on property or very close with a wide variety of cuisine. The cabins were very quaint and for a romantic weekend they are great. I would highly recommend Big Cedar to everyone looking for a rustic experience that is still filled with modern amenities. The Staff was very... More

Everything was awesome except our lodging. We were in room 401 in Spring View. Very dark and small. Had to keep the curtains closed so everyone couldn't see us as they walked by. Not enough light in the room. Felt like we were in a cave. Humidifier went off in the middle of the night two nights in a row... More

There are a lot of activities at BCL from nature walks to water sports. The grounds are beautiful with small cottages of shops around. We stayed at a lodge on the ground floor. The rooms are older and small bathroom. I would not recommend staying on the ground floor, we heard loud noises (sounds like moving furniture) every night. BCL... More

Amazingly Beautiful. Wonderful. Awesome, Incredulous!! I believe they've left no detail undone - this place is beyond the beyond on beauty, service, entertainment for the whole family. Lush lush setting - it's even as beautiful as Oregon - if not even more beautiful - & baby, that's saying a lot!!! My hubby opted out on hitting Missouri this time of... More

First visit to Big Cedar with my husband and teenage son. Big Cedar might be described as Disney-type "wilderness." Yes, the grounds are lovely. The resort is located in a lovely wooded setting. But this is perhaps the most controlled "wilderness" environment I have encountered short of a trip to Disney, a theme park, or possibly a zoo. It's not... More
