My partner and I were travelling to Yogyakarta just before new years and were unaware of how busy the city gets at that time of year. But luckily enough, Disaster Oasis had available space. I stayed here for a workshop. The Disaster Oasis was set up to serve as a training centre on disasters as well as an evacuation shelter. The buildings are supposed to be disaster resistant. This is therefore not your typical hotel. The rooms come in clusters with shared bathrooms - sometimes 1 bathroom between two rooms, or more to one... More

Disaster Oasis, has a unique property, since all the buildings represent a model home in areas affected by the disaster in Indonesia. Nice environment, fresh and cool air makes this place are fit to be a place for escape or runaway from the bustle of big cities such as Yogyakarta. Don’t expect that every room has a TV, the hotel...
