My wife and I were a bit dubious about staying at Hotel Savoy. We're in KC every once in a while, and have stayed at the Marriott and Hotel Philips, a few blocks away. We had had a look around at the Savoy on a previous visit, and were dubious but figured we would give it a try. For the... More

The Hotel Savoy in downtown Kansas City MO, where we stayed and hosted meetings, is an amazing place. It's home to the historic Savoy Grill which opened in 1903 and helped build Kansas City's reputation as a city of great steaks. The Grill is a perfect time capsule and still serves excellent steak. The actual hotel part is older, having... More

All I can say is wow - and not in a good way. I don't even know where to begin to describe this place. They charge rates that make you think it should be nicer than it is. I booked this hotel for Valentines day for my girlfriend and I thinking that that it would be more romantic than a... More

We love this place. It feels like stepping back in time when you walk off the street. It may be a bit dated in some areas but not enough to be concerned. First of all Tivvie, at the front desk, made us feel like we were guests in her home. Warm, friendly, and helpful. We stayed on the 6th floor,... More

Several years ago I had stayed at the Hotel Savoy and with some trepedation decided to return for a recent trip to Kansas City at the urging of a friend. I was surprised at the amount of renovations that had been completed on the main public areas and parking area. The rest of the hotel left much to the imagination.... More

This is our second time around and we are just as intrigued this time as last! In fact we will be bringing my parents back next summer to celebrate their 50 yr. anniversary! If you like ghost stories or are curious about that sort of thing, you will "really" like the atmosphere at this hotel, and the breakfast is the... More

My wife and I really wanted to love this hotel. First off the hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. Unfortunately the rooms and hallways were a little dated and worn down. The breakfast gets an A the hotel a C+. Historic is great unfortunately there was too much old and not enough historic to really be great. We... More

This hotel is beautiful, it has stained glass windows, exquisitely tiled areas, top notch service. The hotel stay includes breakfast, which was good. On your breakfast menu you put what time you will be having breakfast and while we were having ours someone with a master key entered our room and took money and belongings. So lock your stuff up!... This is a neat historic hotel that has not changed some of the original features from the early 1900's. I liked the weird entrance and lobby and odd route to the elevator. The front desk clerk when we checked in seemed a little confused but got the job done. The elevator would be the only scary thing since it was... More

My husband and I stayed here for a "romantic" Valentines getaway to KC. The place was scary. So much work to be done. The furniture looked like it was straight out of a creepy old bachelor uncles house. The place is falling apart. I wanted to love it, but there was just something not right. I could never recommend this.... More
