This was a crappie situation with awful customer service on the part of Orbitz and hotel savoy. I booked the hotel a week before our stay and received a confirmation number. We got all the way to the hotel hours away from home only to find it closed. I called the hotel and the employee was rude and didn't once... More

The owner of this property absolutely does not care about it's customers. One week before a very large convention, they cancelled all customers reservations due to mechanical problems. I understand they have no control over structural problems, but they did absolutely nothing to help out the customers who had booked months in advance. Of course, every other hotel downtown was... I can't for the life of me figure how this place has managed to exist intact to this day. While its contemporaries are either long gone or, in a few cases, remodeled/modernized The Savoy continues on in a kind of twilight time capsule of the early twentieth century. If you look at it as a living museum, its unique value... More

The Hotel Savoy is an interesting hotel. While old and dated, it was very clean. No complaints for staying one night. The staff is nice, but quirky. This is a good historical hotel and view into what it must have been like in the 1920's. (Just don't pay attention to the twin sisters in the hallway saying "red rum".)

I read EVERY review on here trying to decided whether or not to stay here. We decided to. I will say it photographs well and the pictures hide A LOT. I'll start out with the good, free parking! Right next to the hotel. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good, if you like lobster get the bisque it was... More

I decided not to read the other reviews on the hotel before adding mine. First, when I saw the outside of the hotel my stomach turned. Then when I walked into the front door I was a LITTLE BIT more at ease. Then, I walked into the lobby. WOW! We loved it. It was like walking back in time a... More

The wide variety of bare windows from the south view almost kept me from entering the building. (Someone should cover those windows so the unfinished business is made so public!) Entering the hallway leading to the double doors that lead to the dining area that leads to the hotel lobby with its grand stained glass ceiling that leads to the... More

Stayed for 4 nights here and the place obviously has seen it's better days. Breakfast was the only positive for my visit. Very large selection of food and drink. Enough that anyone who can't find something they don't like must be a picky eater. Now the bad...looked like a scene from the Shining. Ate some snacks that were in room... More

If you're looking for a spa tub, forget it! How about a claw foot tub instead? The hotel is filled with history...maybe some ghosts too! The staff is amazingly friendly. The breakfast is like none I have ever seen...kippers and scrambled eggs? Scallops, crap crepes, lamp chops, just to mention a few...included in the room charge! Be sure and check... More

The Savoy is an institution into itself. The history and decor is completely unusual. The folks who work here have worked at the Savoy for many years. They are proud of the history and of their work. The person who served our breakfast showed us the building, and pointed over details of the building I would have normally missed. Food... More
