We stayed here for a weekend baseball visit. Although any place downtown is not convenient for travelling to the basement stadium (nor is the stadium convenient for any place else, practically!!), the Marriott was a good choice for a weekend stay. It's location downtown was very convenient for everything (except getting to the ball field). It was especially convenient to... More

Thank you for your comments about your recent stay at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. We are delighted that you enjoyed the location of our hotel. We are close to many local attractions in downtown Kansas City. The Royals stadium is about fifteen minutes from the hotel depending on the traffic and the time of day. Hopefully once you got... Average food, dated lobby, decent service, just feels like an anywhere USA marriott...the staff at the concierge desk were sold, as was the bartenders. That said, not impressed with the food, rooms or overall look and feel. Needs a facelift. But, if you need to be at the convention center, this will do just fine.

Thank you for your review and your comments regarding your recent stay. A few months ago we completed our Ballroom and Meeting room renovation in the Marriott Tower and we are looking forward to starting the renovations to the Meeting space and Lobby in the Muehlebach Tower. Once that is completed we will start renovations in the guest rooms. We... More

I found the hotel made a good first impression. I was greeted by the doorman who was quite helpful and checked-in in the newly renovated lobby. I did get the impression that the entire hotel would have been renovated based on the look of the lobby. However, when I got to my room, I distinctly remember feeling that the room... More

I am so delighted that you enjoyed your experience at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. The Lobby in the hotel can be very relaxing with the waterfall and I am so sorry that you had to find a different place to have your conference call. We are currently finalizing plans for our meeting room renovations for the Muehlebach Tower and... More

The hotel has two sections, a newer building which is attached to the old Muehlebach hotel via a skywalk. I stayed one night in each having to move from the new to the old seeking more quiet. I was next to an elevator shaft the first night which was quite loud. Rooms were clean and comfortable and within walking distance... More

We were impressed with the over all look of the hotel. The front desk staff and guest services were excellent. Very welcoming. Valet was nice, but nearly made us miss our early bird experience at Royals Stadium because they weren't supposed to valet our car while we put our luggage in the room. We came out to get in the... It's a decent spot in a good location. Maybe the speediest check-in in a long time. But the room was just OK, nothing special. Mattress had that valley in it where everyone seems to sleep - hate that. Shower pressure was low. I think there was some construction or renovation work going on while I was there so the hallway... The only thing this place has going for it is location. That's it. Front desk people were nice and the room is clean but this place is not worth the money. On a scale of 1-10 the rooms are a 4 and for this kind of money it should be nicer. It's like a glorified super 8. Similar decor but... More

Stayed for an extended time. The room was roomy and had fabulous views. The place was completely full as there was more than one event being held downtown. My first thought was, "Oh, no -- no sleep for me!" Couldn't have been further from the truth. I'm a light sleeper, too. The other surprise was the shower. For you Seinfeld... More

Arguably the most centrally located hotel in KC. You can be anywhere in less than 30 min and will always be going opposite direction of traffic. Have stayed here for the past 6 years on and off and like all properties, some stays have been better then others. With the updated concierge lounge and entrance/bar/restaurant area, the hotel has really... More
