The pros- it was reasonably quiet location , the rooms were big and the heat pump worked OK. The Wi Fi was good service for free. A great real heritage area. The Cons- everything is dated to the 1970s decoration but faux heritage look alike. It had big double bath but it was not a spar bath. The curtains did... More

We stayed in the 2-bedder cottage which is next to the reception building. We arrived at 700pm and it didn't take it long for the friendly host Mr Colin to attend to us. He immediately greeted us and after showing us to the cottage he even brought out his horse for our young nephew to get up close and personal... More

ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL EXPERIENCE. We only stayed because everything else appeared to be booked and it was getting late in the day. If circumstances dictate that you end up staying in this rubbish establishment, room 9 is to be avoided at all costs!! Dirty, untidy, dated, the previous occupants rubbish still in the receptacle under the sink. The noise from the... More

Room 9 is only 6 months old , It has a new King Size top of the range king Coil bed, the room is not ultra modern as that is not our style , All the furniture is new antique reproduction with a brand new bathroom , This guest was aggressive to other guests at 9-30 pm who were just... More

Quaint peaceful setting with beautifully themed rooms. We loved the animals and the homely feel. It was a nice change from the coldness of a city hotel room. The service was most accommodating too. We decided to lounge outside for dinner at the restaurant which was pleasant we had a lovely time.

Even basic cleanliness needed attention. It's all very well to talk about educating international hospitality students BUT the English maitre d looked unwashed and her hair looked as though it hadn't been combed in the recent past. Pleasant girl but not suitable for front of house. The owner conducted business in the "restaurant" and grumbled constantly about indistinct voicemails to... More

The views and location of Hatchers Manor - gorgeous! We stayed in the St Johns Apartment which had a very narrow steep staircase to get to the apartment. It was OK for us (even though a little difficult to lug suitcases up the stairs) it would be particularly difficult for people travelling with small kids, elderly, injured or anyone with... More

We stayed at Hatchers Manor in January 2015 in Room 5 " A family Room". We checked in and immediately started searching for a place to stay.... It is awful.....Filthy, old and dated, noisy, from the people staying up stairs. Terrible uncomfortable beds. Mouldy bathroom with crusty substance under toilet seat....dirty utensils...dead flies / spiders between the beds... the list... More

Why would some one stay for 3 days and not come and see the owners who live on site to fix any problems they had , nothing was mentioned to any of our permanent cleaners who work here either More

We last visited here back in 2000. It has not changed all that much. There are some new buildings but the animals, orchards and quiet setting are the same, along with the friendly owners. We spent one night here on our recent return to Tasmania as it had happy memories from our previous visit. It did not disappoint. My eldest... More

It is a pleasure getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relaxing in the quiet country side. Good food, relaxing environment and the quiet that you would expect from a stay that is just out the city with a country feel. Sitting outside my room with a glass of wine in hand watching out over the... More

From the beginning, our hosts Colin & Jeanette were more than willing to accommodate to our needs with great service and local knowledge. Relaxing environment, friendly pets and serene grounds to chill amongst. A perfect base for exploring Tasmania's south as well as historical Richmond. Highly recommended.
