Stayed here 1 night.... but would like to have stayed more! Spent 10 days touring around Tasmania staying at most places for 1 night and this was definately the best place that we stayed. We were given a brief history of the house when we checked in and then we were personally shown to our room. Beautiful room, tastefully old... More

We had a thoroughly enjoyable one night stay in Richmond at Mrs Currie's House - a very historic house with a nicely appointed room (the Iris Room). Marilyn and Patrick are lovely hosts and Marilyn told us that the back section of the house is the oldest continuously-occupied rammed earth house in Australia. The gardens are beautifully manicured and a... More

I have just spent an amazing couple of days in Richmond staying at the fantastic Mrs Currie's House! The building is incredible with all the history and charm that you'd expect from a house built in the 1800s. The owners were so helpful and knowledgable about their guesthouse and the surrounding area, making my few days break even more memorable!... More

We have just returned from a trip to Australia where we visited Sydney and then Richmond in Tasmania, and what a find Mrs Currie's in Richmond turned out to be! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by the owners Patrick and Marilyn. Their obvious love of the house and its history was infectious and... More

We have just returned from an 8 week trip of Australia and New Zealand and this is the worst accomodation we stayed in. After reading the reviews we thought we were in for something special. The owner gave us a great speech about the history of the place and then showed us our room. We chose Iris Room because it... More

We have considered these comments very carefully. Couple of points. There is only one flight of stairs (it is only a double story building). We measured the room, it is slightly over 4 metres by 4 metres, we think a fair size for a bedroom built in 1855, easily takes the queen bed plus other furniture. Room has a full... More

We can confirm that the rating is still high after the previous rating posted in 2008. Well maintained and in keeping with the era of its origin. More

I loved this place, I loved our room, the owners were super friendly and the breakfast was delicious. It has been two years since I stayed at Mrs Curries and everytime I think of Tassi, I think of Mrs Curries and Richmond, my favourite place by far. What a beautiful little town. More

We have just returned from a trip to Tassie and would recommend you stay at Mrs Curries B&B in Richmond. The town is just wonderdul, probably the best place in all of Tasmania and then we also found the best place to stay in the town. The house is just beautiful, very clean and inviting, it has new carpet &... More
