Wonderful accommodation! My partner and I spent 2 lovely days at Richmond Barracks in the 'Cellar'. Absolutely spotless throughout, well furnished with all needs catered for. Beautifully equipped with everything we needed. The ample breakfast basket was set up with cereal, yoghurt, fresh milk and juice, 3 types of bread and fresh fruit, more than enough! The owners were extremely... More

We stayed at Richmond Barracks for two nights in the Lady Esther cottage. The downstairs space included a bedroom, en suite, kitchenette with plenty of crockery, cutlery etc, two lounges and a dining table with four chairs. There was a second bedroom and toilet upstairs. The bed was very comfortable, with quality linen, an electric blanket, good bedside lighting, fluffy... More

We stayed in the Lady Esther and it was roomy enough for four and well set up to stay in. The owner was great, checking in and bringing breakfast the night before (well worth adding to your stay) without being intrusive. Clean, comfortable and so close to town. Quite private. Well worth staying. We would certainly stay again.

We (a group of four) spent a delightful six days at the Barracks and could not speak more highly of the accommodation and the friendly and efficient service. Liz and Martin always go the extra mile (in organising dinner bookings etc) and are the epitome of hospitality. PS I am pleased Bruno features in some of the photos.

A recent return visit to the Richmond Barracks and it was just as lovely as I remembered. The accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped, the breakfast fresh and healthy, the tariff very good value, location excellent and the owners very friendly and knowledgeable of the local surrounds.

We could only stay one night but the two-room apartment was tastefully decorated, quiet and comfortable, only one block from the centre of town. The historic barracks seemed appropriate for a stay in this historic town.

We loved this place. We stayed in the spacious Lady Esther Cottage and enjoyed its spaciousness, cleanliness, and fully equipped kitchen. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer -- really lovely people who know how to run a first class B&B the way it should be run. The location is excellent and Richmond is a convenient spot for sightseeing in the... More

We stayed in the Lady Esther cottage accommodation which was a delightful and imaginative conversion of a two story barn-type building. The living area/kitchen/dining was on the ground floor as was a large bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom with the two singles was located on the mezzanine floor. An excellent feature here was the provision of an extra... More

After staying at Brickendon at Longford and Sea Change B & B at Port Arthur I had trepidations about Richmond Barracks because of the price structure. It was much cheaper than the other two. Immediately on meeting Liz and Martin I felt a sense of relief. The Lady Esther our accommodation for two nights was fantastic. Very clean and modern.... More
