I am a travel agent and was looking for a cute beachfront accomodation. We stayed 3 nights in the 'penthouse", which just means it is on the 3rd floor. It is a shame the owners have let this potentially adorable place fall apart, and it is only about 5 yrs old. The floor plan and tile work is beautiful. However,... more

From start to finish, it was the easiest and best vacation we have ever had. Geo the Manager, what a great young man. He took care of all our needs. When booking, we were warned about noise from the local beach bar but we found it not a problem. Papa's is the best and most affordable beachfront lodging we found... more

My boyfriend and I just got back from a 7 day trip to Sayulita, Mexico. We researched quite a few different accomodations prior to booking our room, and in the end chose Papa's Palapas. We had the 1 bedroom suite with a garden view, which was located right on the beach. The location was PERFECT if you are planning on... more

Papa's Palapas has some nice suites... but the bungalows are certainly a step away from nice accomodations. First of all - no website or review will tell you that Papa's Bungalows are missing their 4th wall. Yes - The 4th wall is an intricate design of rusting white wrought iron covered in holey sheets. Once you walk in you notice... more

We've stayed at Papa's a few times. You cannot beat the location and the 60 foot belcony overlooking the surf break. We loved sitting out there during the day to get out of the sun and watch people surf and the action on the beach. The surf break is litterally right in front of Papa's so you can see when... more

Spent 7 nights at Papa's and did not want to come home. Sure the surf was loud and the weather warm and a few bugs here and there, but the view from the bedrooms was one to behold. The people were friendly, the food great, the drinks cold (well most of the time), and the sunsets were never to be... more

Stayed for 4 days last week in April for a surfing trip. Papas has a few rough edges. Place was big enough for six guys. A/C in the 2 bedrooms only. Kitchen/living area is all together and you just leave the balcony doors open for ventillation. Kitchen area and cooking utinsils could have been cleaner. Maid only came two days.... more

My two sons and I spent 5 days at Papa's and loved it. We had a great apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen facilities & huge balcony overlooking the beach. The suite was clean. I guess you can't really get away from cockroaches in the tropical climates. We also had a rat in our room that ate our mangoes... more
